About the workplace
The Riding and Music Association Lindebolarna is a small non-profit association with approximately 180 members and around 20 horses. The facility consists of a paddock, 23 hectares of pastures with free-range grazing, and stables. The activities are conducted outdoors in a beautiful environment near lakes and forests.
The association was founded in 1967. We run a riding school and riding camps, placing great emphasis on pedagogy and the well-being of the horses. We are affiliated with the Swedish Equestrian Federation and the Swedish Riding Instructors Association. Description
We are looking for you who, with a strong pedagogical approach, want to help students develop according to their own prerequisites in riding. You believe that the interaction between horse and rider is more important than measuring performance. You can engage and involve a group of students in both theory lessons and practical sessions. You want to help create the riding school of the future, focusing on the well-being of the horses and the security and self-confidence of the riders.
With small groups and long lessons, we focus on giving our students a comprehensive insight into life with horses. Therefore, all riding sessions include instructor-led riding, practical riding, and theory.
We can offer you a part-time position with 1–2 fixed weekday evenings as a theory instructor, as well as work as a riding instructor on Sundays during the autumn term. Additionally, working as a Riding Instructor approx. 1-2 times per week during the summer riding camp. There are good opportunities to step in as a substitute on other days and to work more hours during holidays when we run riding camps.
The riding students range from riding kindergarten/beginners to level 2 rider badge, with an age range of approx. 4-12 years. Walking lessons will be introduced during the spring term.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct riding lessons for students at different levels.
- Conduct theory lessons and practical exercises according to the curriculum.
- All stable-related tasks.
- Some administrative work.
- Work together with the operations manager and colleagues to plan and develop the riding school and facility in line with the organization's goals and the board's directives.
Desired Education/Qualifications
- Secondary education in equine studies.
- Riding instructor training.
Requirements
- A driver's license and a car are required to commute to work as there is no public transport nearby.
Other competencies that are meritorious
- Experience working in non-profit activities.
- Swedish Riding Instructor, minimum SRL I or equivalent.
- Hippologist, or other relevant pedagogical background that we consider equivalent.
- At least 1 year of professional experience in a pedagogical role with children and youth.
- You are educated and knowledgeable about horse learning and behavior.
- You apply research-based methods in your training.
- You have specialized in the rider's seat and influence, physiology, and communication with the horse.
Salary: According to agreement.
Start date: After agreement, summer at the riding camp and towards autumn.
We look forward to receiving your application in the form of a personal letter and CV to [email protected]
