RESPONSIBILITIES

Welcome to Höganäs Municipality – a growing coastal community focused on learning and culture! Höganäs is located in the scenic northwestern part of Skåne and is part of the expanding Öresund Region. Here, you will find a vibrant coastal culture, attractive residential areas, and a growing population. Jonstorp School is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) with approximately 575 students, located in the charming town of Jonstorp. The school strives to provide students with a safe and inspiring learning environment, where the school library plays a central role.

We are now seeking an engaged and pedagogical librarian for Jonstorp School's integrated public and school library. The position is a combined role where you will work with both school library operations and public library duties. As a librarian at Jonstorp School, you will be a key resource for students' reading and language development, while also contributing to strengthening the library's role as a meeting place for the entire community.

Responsibilities:

As a school librarian at Jonstorp School, you will lead and develop the school library operations in collaboration with the school's educators and principal. You will work to promote reading by inspiring students to read. You will strengthen students' media and information literacy through teaching in source criticism, information searching, and digital competence. You are responsible for media purchasing and ensure that the collection is diverse, target-group adapted, and updated according to the school's and students' needs. You collaborate with teachers to integrate the school library into the teaching and support students' knowledge development.

As part of the position, you will also work with public library operations in Jonstorp. Your responsibilities will include service to all target groups, from children to adults. You will plan and carry out activities. You are responsible for media purchasing and weeding to ensure a current and varied collection. You work outwardly to reach new visitors and strengthen the library's role as a meeting place in Jonstorp.

Evening and weekend shifts may be included.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent education. You have a great interest in reading promotion work and the ability to inspire children and young people to read.

You have pedagogical competence and experience working with children and young people, preferably within school libraries. You have good knowledge of media and information literacy. You are creative and flexible with the ability to develop new and enjoyable ways of working.

You are service-oriented and can meet visitors of all ages, have literary knowledge, and a burning interest in literature mediation.
