Lindinvent develops its own hardware and software for demand-controlled ventilation and building automation. By combining sensors, electronics, and intelligent control systems, we create energy-efficient solutions that optimize indoor climate, lighting, and sun protection in environments such as offices, schools, laboratories, and healthcare facilities. Our goal is to create smart buildings with high comfort and minimal energy consumption.
We are a market-leading provider at the forefront of technology, serving some of Sweden's largest property owners. The company is in an exciting expansion phase and is taking its next step by moving to new premises.
About the Role
The role within technical documentation is responsible for ensuring that the company's products and systems are described and documented in a clear, accurate, and usable manner. This involves creating and maintaining technical product information that enables project teams, installers, operations staff, and customers to understand how the products function, are installed, and are used.
In an organization like Lindinvent, where hardware, electronics, software, and control systems are developed internally, documentation becomes a central part of the product's functionality and usability. Therefore, this role directly contributes to ensuring that the technology can be implemented, commissioned, and used correctly in real-world buildings.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for creating and developing technical product information. The documentation includes, for example, product descriptions, technical data sheets, manuals, commissioning and balancing instructions, wiring diagrams, as well as installation and user instructions. The work also involves designing visual elements of the documentation, such as technical illustrations, wiring diagrams, symbols, and graphic structures, where both clarity and visual quality contribute to making the information easy to understand. The role is also responsible for product-related labeling and identification, such as product labels, signs, and other technical markings associated with the products and their installations. As information needs evolve, the role may also contribute to new forms of technical information, such as instructional videos, visual guides, or other digital aids for installation and commissioning.
Current Working Methods
You will work closely with the development department to understand the product's structure and function, where the source material may consist of design data, component information, schematics, and technical specifications. The information is supplemented as needed through dialogue with developers, suppliers, and other technical functions. Based on this material, a first version of the documentation is created, often based on established templates for product sheets, manuals, or commissioning instructions. The documentation is then gradually developed as the products are used in projects and experiences from installation and operations are fed back into the material. You thus serve as a crucial link between product development, project organization, and the practical use of the systems. The work involves collaboration with several parts of the organization, where the development department is a central partner, but the project and sales organizations also contribute requirements and needs related to product information in various projects. This means handling multiple internal stakeholders and ensuring that necessary information is produced.
Currently, no PIM (Product Information Management) system is used in the business. Implementing such a system is a prioritized goal moving forward and will be part of the role.
Your Qualifications and Background
The role suits a person with experience in technical documentation or technical information production, for example, as a technical information officer, technical writer, or technical documenter. Experience from technical environments where products are developed and implemented is particularly valuable, such as within ventilation, building automation, electronics, or other systems where hardware, control systems, and software interact. A level of experience of approximately 5 to 10 years in technical documentation or technical communication is sufficient. If you also have an aptitude for graphic design and an eye for how information is presented visually, it is a strength.
A suitable educational background could be in technical communication, information design, technical documentation, or another technical or engineering-oriented education where information structure is included. At the same time, practical experience and a documented ability to work with technical information are more important than a specific degree. The role requires a genuine technical interest, analytical ability, a structured work approach, and a pedagogical ability to explain technical functions in an understandable way. The work often involves independently driving information gathering and developing documentation in collaboration with several parts of the organization, making initiative and independence important traits.
Proficiency in tools for technical documentation and graphic production is a prerequisite. Adobe Creative Cloud is central to the work, especially InDesign for layout and production of manuals and technical documents, Illustrator for technical illustrations and schematics, Photoshop for image editing, and Acrobat for handling and quality assurance of PDF documents. Premiere Pro can be used to produce simpler instructional and commissioning videos. The role will also work with digital tools for managing product information, such as PIM solutions or other systems for structured product data. Swedish is the primary language in the documentation, but since much technical information is also available in English, good proficiency in working with both languages is required. Additional language skills, such as Norwegian or Danish, are meritorious but not decisive.
Future Challenges and Development Areas
The company is growing, and the products are becoming more advanced with more integrated technical components, increasing the need for structured and accessible technical documentation. The focus is on developing working methods and introducing digital management of product information, for example via PIM systems, as well as creating clear manuals and instructions for complex installations. At the same time, requirements for sustainability and environmental product information are increasing.
