About the Job

We are seeking approximately 20 hourly-paid teaching assistants (amanuenses) who, as needed and by agreement, will assist course-responsible teachers in courses in Mechanics and Strength of Materials. Duties include teaching lectures, supervising laboratory sessions, and grading reports and exams.

About You

To be eligible for employment as a teaching assistant, you must be admitted to a university program at the basic or advanced level.

The position is directly linked to the fundamental courses in Mechanics and Strength of Materials offered by the Division of Mechanics and Strength of Materials at Linköping University. The tasks are varied and may arise with short notice, requiring flexibility and availability at the university. Furthermore, you should be responsible, meticulous, possess pedagogical skills, and have an interest in the subject area.

A requirement for obtaining employment is the ability to demonstrate documented good subject knowledge in the areas covered by the relevant courses. It is an advantage if you are studying at Linköping University. It is also an advantage if you are studying at the advanced level and are available for assignments until December 22, 2026.

Your Workplace

The Division of Mechanics and Strength of Materials is part of the Department of Economic and Industrial Development and belongs to the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The division has a large undergraduate teaching mandate covering instruction for several educational programs at Linköping University.

About the Employment

Employment as a teaching assistant is regulated by Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Scope and start date are determined by agreement.

Salary and Benefits

Salary according to LiU's central agreement on teaching assistant pay. The position is hourly-paid.
