Description

Vocational High School Uppsala is primarily seeking a licensed vocational teacher in Construction and Civil Engineering; however, you are also welcome to apply if you have at least five years of work experience in the construction industry. Here, students learn a trade from the ground up at real workplaces with experienced supervisors. In this role, you will have the opportunity to share your knowledge with the future construction workers of tomorrow. More than half of the students' training time takes place at a workplace, giving them a solid foundation and an advantage in the job market. Our students are prepared in the best possible way for their future professional lives with the support of their supervisors and dedicated educators. We are looking for someone who finds it easy to build relationships with young people and wants to work on safety-building activities at school, where community and joy are in focus.

We are looking for you who:

• Are a licensed teacher in Construction and Civil Engineering or have at least five years of experience in the construction industry with a strong drive to teach and supervise students.

• Are an excellent communicator and team player who can act as a bridge between school, students, and the business community.

• Are someone who also wants to work on student well-being at school and enjoys organizing and carrying out fun activities.

• Have a B-class driver's license and preferably access to your own car.

• Have the ability to work independently while being team-oriented and collaborating with colleagues to best prepare students for their future professional lives.

Qualifications

A teaching degree or extensive experience in the construction industry and a desire to inspire and develop the next generation of construction workers. A teaching license and pedagogical experience are desirable but not required.
