Do you want to make a difference in people's daily lives? Look no further!

We are currently recruiting summer and hourly substitutes for our Staffing Unit within the Administration for Functional Support, City District Southwest (Frölunda, Högsbo, Askim, Styrsö, and western Gothenburg). You will cover short-term absences and vacations for regular staff throughout the year and during the summer.

Within functional support, you will work with everything from home care to supporting individuals in their workplaces, leisure activities, or creative environments such as theater and music. Support in daily life is the foundation – but needs vary. Regardless of the assignment, the goal is always the same: to strengthen people's independence and quality of life.

What is a disability?

A disability is a reduced physical, psychological, or intellectual ability. It can be congenital or develop later in life and can be visible or invisible. Every person is unique – with their own abilities, needs, and strengths – which makes the work both meaningful and developmental.

Our Operations

We are recruiting for several operations within functional support:

  • Housing with Special Services (BmSS) – 24-hour operations.
  • Daily Activities – habilitative and work-oriented activities during the day.
  • Residential Support – support in users' home environments, primarily during the day but also evenings and weekends.
  • Short-term housing for adults – time-limited support and care for adult users.

Placement is based on the needs of the operations and your previous experience.

Job Responsibilities

The work varies depending on the operation but may include:

  • Pedagogical support in daily life
  • Personal care
  • Cooking, laundry, and other daily chores
  • Activities and social support
  • Documentation and medication handling according to delegation

Challenging and self-injurious behaviors may occur in some of our operations.

Summer Substitute Position:

You need to be able to work according to a schedule for several consecutive weeks during weeks 25–33. In your application, state when you are available. There is an opportunity to start as an hourly substitute before the summer.

Hourly Substitute Position:

As an hourly substitute, you work as needed and enter your own availability. Working hours vary between day, evening, weekend, and night depending on the operation.

Qualifications

You must be at least 18 years old to apply for a position with us, in accordance with regulations regarding the working environment for minors (AFS 2023:2).

To be able to maintain documentation, you must master the Swedish language in speech and writing. This requires passing grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a Second Language 1, or equivalent. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1 may be offered to take a language test via the test provider EducateIt.

Being a trained support assistant, nursing assistant, or having another education deemed equivalent by the employer, or having ongoing education in healthcare and social services, pedagogical or social work, is an asset. Experience in healthcare and social services, pedagogical or social work is also an asset.

We are looking for someone who takes responsibility for their own tasks and the group's tasks. You think about the people we serve and their best interests. You do your best to complete all tasks correctly and follow up on the results.

You are friendly and helpful towards others, even in stressful situations. You show respect for everyone you meet at work. You are inviting and positive. You work to ensure the student/customer/user gets what they need.

You are calm and secure in pressured and difficult situations. You can balance the demands placed on you and make well-founded decisions despite time pressure.
