The Workplace

The Economic Department is a central function supporting the municipality's administrations and companies in economic management, follow-up, and development. The unit consists of 16 employees within administrative support, accounting, and procurement/e-commerce, with this position located within administrative support. You will be part of a team providing qualified support to managers in both administrations and municipally owned companies, responsible for the entire economic process from budget to final accounts.

The work is characterized by a society-oriented perspective with a focus on the municipal residents and is carried out in close collaboration with operations to contribute to stable economic development. In recent years, extensive development work has been carried out with a focus on efficiency, and moving forward, the focus will be particularly on digitalization and the development of project activities. The work environment is characterized by collaboration, knowledge exchange, and continuous development.

Responsibilities

In the role of Group Controller, you will:

• Work with qualified economic issues such as ownership control, analysis, and business support in close collaboration with operations in areas such as water and sewage, energy, and real estate
• Be responsible for economic management including budget, forecast, and final accounts
• Conduct economic investigations and work with analysis, follow-up, and development of operations
• Contribute to improvement and change work with a focus on more efficient processes and routines
• Have an overarching role within the municipal group with responsibility for planning, analysis, and reporting
• Contribute to purposeful management and efficient resource utilization from an owner's perspective

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• academic education in economics
• several years of experience in controller and accounting work, preferably in a larger corporate group or municipal group.
• good knowledge of accounting, corporate law, and financing.
• good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you have experience of:

• group accounting
• overarching economic processes and internal control
• working in politically controlled organizations or public sector activities.
• using economic follow-up as a basis for management and decision-making.

To succeed in the role, you need to be analytical, strategic, and solution-oriented with good problem-solving skills. You work in a structured and methodical way, have the ability to see the big picture and long-term consequences, and act with the best interests of the operation in focus. You are clear in your communication and have very good collaboration skills, building trusting relationships with both colleagues and operations. Furthermore, you are development-oriented and can handle complex issues in an efficient and thoughtful manner.
