Do you want to work closely with top management and, together with other regional lawyers, ensure a legally secure application of laws and regulations in an organization that affects people's lives every day? We are now looking for a chief legal officer who wants to take a central role in the region's continued development!

The chief legal officer position is located in the Secretariat Department within the Regional Executive Board's administration. Here, the region's legal function exists alongside the committee team responsible for the political case process. Currently, there are four lawyers and a data protection officer working in the department, providing qualified legal support to the political leadership, the regional director, and other administrative leadership.

We are in a development phase where law has an increasingly strategic significance, especially in matters related to digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence.

As chief legal officer, you have a central and strategic role with overall responsibility for leading and coordinating the region's legal work and supervising the lawyers in the legal department. You work closely with both political and administrative leadership and provide qualified support in legal and strategic matters.

The assignment includes advising, analyzing, and developing working methods that ensure that the operations are conducted in accordance with legislation and internal guidelines. The role includes responsibility for the region's whistleblower function, representing the region in collaboration with other regions, and identifying and managing legal risks, including working with legal investigations and disputes.

You contribute to knowledge dissemination through training and support for managers and employees. The work includes legal issues related to complex contractual matters, procurement issues, and healthcare law, in collaboration with other lawyers within the function.

Requirements

• Law degree
• Solid experience in qualified legal investigative work
• Experience from politically governed organizations or public administration, with a good understanding of municipal law principles and their practical application
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing

Desirable

• Experience working as a chief legal officer
• Experience in court processes
• Previous managerial experience
