What will you be working on?
Your tasks include investigating and handling cases, both independently and in collaboration with others in various working groups. You will monitor, scan the external environment, analyze, and report on infectious diseases that may pose a threat to human health and that do not normally occur in Sweden.
You will participate in the Agency's coordination and preparedness work against serious cross-border health threats, as well as the Agency's role as the national focal point for the International Health Regulations (IHR). You will support work within the Agency's responsibility according to the EU Health Security Regulation.
Furthermore, you will participate in various work processes, such as preparing background material, requests, surveys, and consultation responses based on the unit's subject areas. You will assist in ongoing work based on various work routines and take meeting minutes from the Agency's situation assessment meetings. Additionally, you will participate in the Public Health Agency's various projects and meeting forums. In this position, security-classified information may be handled.
In the role of Investigator, you will:
- Handle and coordinate the Agency's tasks related to the EU Health Security Regulation and the International Health Regulations (IHR).
- Monitor, scan the external environment, and report on infectious diseases nationally, to WHO, and to ECDC.
- Contribute to the unit's regulation-driven preparedness-related tasks.
- Participate in internal and external projects and meeting forums in the field, primarily concerning preparedness for cross-border health threats and within the preparedness sector.
Who are we looking for?
Requirements for employment:
- University degree in a relevant field, such as law, political science, global health, or medicine.
In addition, we consider these competencies, abilities, and experiences important for you to thrive with us:
Great weight is placed on:
- Personal qualities such as good teamwork skills, responsibility, and analytical ability. You have a holistic perspective and a good approach.
- Experience in monitoring or environmental scanning.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Experience of working at a government agency.
Considerable weight is placed on:
- Knowledge of the Swedish crisis management and preparedness system.
- Experience in preparing background material and reports, as well as quality assurance of these.
- Experience in preparedness work.
What does the unit do?
The Unit for Preparedness and Crisis Management coordinates preparedness against infectious diseases and other serious health threats. The unit is responsible for the coordination and development of, among other things, the Agency's crisis management organization, the function of the Officer on Duty (TiB), and work on civil defense.

About the employment
You will be employed as an Investigator with placement at our office in Solna. The employment is a full-time temporary position for the period June 1 - August 28, 2026.
As an employee at the Public Health Agency of Sweden, you may be subject to wartime deployment. Certain positions are placed in a security class where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. Security clearance will then be carried out in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
At the Agency, there may be an opportunity to sign an agreement on remote work up to 40 percent of your working time.
