Mission: Strengthening Knowledge Development in Our Schools

Do you want to work strategically and operationally to develop teaching that makes a real difference for students' learning? We are seeking a Pedagogical Development Manager to lead and coordinate targeted development work within the framework of the state grant for strengthened knowledge development.

The assignment involves a central role in translating analysis into concrete pedagogical development and, together with school leadership and staff, creating sustainable working methods that enhance students' goal achievement.

About the Assignment

As a Pedagogical Development Manager, you will work on behalf of the governing body to plan, implement, and follow up on development initiatives based on the organization's identified needs. The role combines strategic work with close support to school leadership and pedagogical staff. Additionally, you will manage lead teachers, subject team process leaders, and project members in development projects.

You will lead development processes that strengthen the quality of teaching and contribute to increased equity between operations. The assignment involves creating structures for collegial learning, supporting the implementation of research-based methods, and ensuring that initiatives are integrated into the systematic quality work.

The role also includes analyzing results, following up on the effects of implemented initiatives, and contributing to documentation and reporting related to the state grant. The work is carried out in close collaboration with principals, student health services, and other support functions.

Responsibilities

You are responsible for translating identified development needs into planned and actionable initiatives that strengthen students' knowledge development. The assignment includes leading pedagogical development processes, organizing competence development and collegial learning, and supporting school leaders and teams in implementing developed working methods.

You will systematically follow up on the implementation of initiatives and analyze results in relation to set goals. An important part of the assignment is to contribute to sustainability by ensuring that developed working methods are integrated into regular operations. Therefore, you are responsible for creating long-term financing for development initiatives in close collaboration with the school principal.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in pedagogy and several years of experience in qualified work within the school system. You have extensive experience working with students with extensive support needs and a well-developed understanding of how organization, teaching, and learning environments need to be designed to create long-term sustainable conditions for learning.

You have experience in special pedagogical work at a strategic level and are accustomed to analyzing needs, identifying development areas, and translating these into structured initiatives that have an impact on operations.

You have documented experience in leading or driving systematic quality work and are confident in using results, follow-up, and analysis as a basis for decisions and development. Experience from a governing body perspective or working closely with school leadership is considered particularly meritorious.

We expect you to have worked as a school leader or had clear responsibility for operational development where you have led change processes and supported other leaders or teams in development work. You have the ability to move between the strategic level and operational work, as well as to create structure and direction in complex contexts.

You thrive in an ideologically driven and employee-owned organization where reflection, development, and research affiliation are natural parts of the assignment. You actively contribute to a professional learning climate and have the ability to create trust and engagement in development processes.

It is meritorious if you have experience working within or in close collaboration with the Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket), the Swedish Schools Inspectorate (Skolinspektionen), the National Agency for Special Needs Education and Schools (SPSM), or similar national or agency-related operations.

We Offer

  • A qualified and clearly defined assignment where you can contribute to the development of Magelungens resource schools
  • The opportunity to work independently with a clear mandate and access to relevant contacts and support
  • An organization characterized by engagement, professionalism, and high quality
  • Insight into and influence on central development issues in an ideologically driven and employee-owned operation where research and reflection are integrated parts
  • A time-limited assignment with a fixed agreed scope that creates good conditions for an efficient and concentrated implementation

Employment Type
