Are you an experienced lawyer with an interest in and experience of competition law?

Then you might be the one we are looking for. We are currently seeking an experienced lawyer for our competition supervision units.

Functioning competition is crucial for the economy to work. The Swedish Competition Authority plays a central role in promoting competition and compliance with competition rules. We are now growing to contribute even more to well-functioning markets.

About our supervision units

The Swedish Competition Authority's supervision units are responsible for identifying and intervening against suspected violations of competition rules. The units are also responsible for reviewing corporate concentrations. Furthermore, all units are involved in the Authority's broader competition-promoting mandate, including conducting market and sector investigations, information campaigns, and participating in the Authority's international cooperation and policy work.

In the units, lawyers and economists work together in projects where the project group jointly designs and drives the investigation.

Your responsibilities

  • You lead or participate in the supervision units' investigations and contribute to the Swedish Competition Authority having an active and well-functioning competition supervision.
  • You conduct competition law, EU law, and administrative law analyses.
  • You work on procedural preparation by ensuring high quality in evidence collection and evaluation.
  • You participate in drafting proposals for decisions and presenting cases for decision.
  • You may join process teams to prepare cases for court.
  • You contribute to the work of improving our working methods.
  • You participate in the Swedish Competition Authority's international cooperation. You apply administrative law rules, handle public documents, and make assessments regarding confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • You have an academic degree in law.
  • You have several years of professional experience in qualified legal work from, for example, a law firm, the European Commission, an authority, or a court.
  • You can express yourself very well orally and in writing in Swedish.
  • You can comprehend advanced legal reasoning in English.

As a person, you are result-oriented, proactive, analytical, and able to handle complex legal issues. You have a high work capacity, are structured, responsible, and have a good ability to prioritize. You have high integrity, are attentive, and find it easy to collaborate with others. You understand the importance of legal security and impartiality.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • professional experience of competition law investigation work
  • court experience or procedural experience, especially from cases concerning competition law
  • experience of project management
