On September 13, elections will be held for the Riksdag, regional councils, and municipal councils. We are now looking for you who want an important and meaningful assignment – to work as a ballot receiver in Solna Municipality.

What does the job involve?

As a ballot receiver, you are part of the election process, contributing to it being conducted safely, correctly, and legally. You will meet voters, receive ballots, maintain order in the polling station, and assist in counting the votes after closing. In a polling station, six to eight ballot receivers work in various roles. Among them, a chairperson and a deputy chairperson lead and distribute the work. The work takes place in various locations in Solna during advance voting and on election day.

Advance voting runs between August 26 and September 13. On election day, September 13, you will work from the morning until the vote count is complete.

Who are we looking for?

You must be at least 18 years old by election day and be able to communicate well in Swedish. It is an advantage if you also speak other languages. We are looking for someone who is meticulous, service-oriented, and can maintain calm even when the pace is high. Previous experience with election work or an interest in democratic processes is a merit.

For the 2026 election, eligible voters with a digital mailbox will receive their voting card digitally. As a result, the Election Authority will modernize advance voting. As a ballot receiver working during advance voting, you need basic computer skills and a curiosity to work with digital voting cards and a modernized advance voting process.

Our offer

All ballot receivers receive mandatory training prior to the assignment. The training is conducted by Solna Municipality's election office and is a prerequisite for working during the election. No compensation is paid for the training.

The Election Committee proposes to the Municipal Council that ballot receivers in 2026 should receive remuneration as follows:

  • Chairperson: 4,600 SEK
  • Deputy Chairperson: 4,100 SEK
  • Ballot Receiver: 3,400 SEK

For work during advance voting, an hourly fee is paid. If you are employed by Solna Municipality and work on election day, alternative hourly compensation is available according to information on the intranet. The Municipal Council is expected to decide on remuneration on March 16, 2026.
