Your responsibilities

RIK assists the Speaker and Members of Parliament in their international engagement. Your tasks consist of handling international matters at RIK. Duties include assisting in the secretariat support for the Parliament's delegations to interparliamentary assemblies, particularly the delegation to the Nordic Council, as well as working with international visits to the Parliament, seminars, and conferences.

Responsibilities include handling current issues, preparing background material and speeches, developing programs for and managing incoming visits, writing reports, and making assessments based on our guidelines. The role also includes administrative and logistical tasks such as organizing conferences and travel. You will have many contacts and work closely with both Members of Parliament and civil servants, as well as government agencies and embassies.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in social sciences or law deemed relevant for the position, with experience in working with international activities and handling, and knowledge of, international issues.

You have experience in international cooperation and arranging international visits, travel, conferences, and seminars. You also have good knowledge of the Swedish government administration.

You are accustomed to working independently and making your own assessments based on existing guidelines.

You express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English, and have good analytical and stylistic skills, as well as good knowledge of Word and Excel.

The work requires that you can quickly grasp new issues and that you are solution- and service-oriented, as well as unpretentious. You are quality-conscious and skilled at organizing, planning, and structuring your work, and you are used to working in an environment where the pace is sometimes high.

Previous relevant experience working within the unit's area of responsibility or similar work within the Parliamentary Administration or the Government Offices is an asset. You are flexible and have good judgment, integrity, and a good understanding of the civil servant role.

Great importance will be attached to your personal qualities, particularly your ability to structure your work and to collaborate and communicate.
