Our mission is not just one, but many: schools, real estate, social services, harbors, healthcare, libraries, care, and much more. We strive to ensure that all residents of Värmdö can live a rich and free life. To succeed fully, we need many and extensive competencies and must work together to create a shared and trust-based work culture, built on courageous, responsible employees who understand the needs and wishes of our residents.

Our Operations

Under the Education Office, there are various departments. The Education Support Unit falls under the Department for Steering and Quality, which handles central functions within the Education Office. The unit's mandate includes exercising authority in the education sector, forecasting and needs assessments, as well as management and operational support for municipal activities. The unit works to offer the best possible service, knowledge, and competence through efficient working methods and processes.

We are in an exciting phase of development where processes within the unit and the department are being renewed and strengthened, and you will be an important part of this work. Your competence and engagement will contribute to creating a more inclusive and high-quality educational environment for all children and students in preschool, primary school, and high school.

Your Assignment

As a Case Officer, you will have overall responsibility for our child and student administrative system – the system that provides us with all data related to our children and students. The student system is a key function for the Education Office, preschools, and schools. The work can be challenging when figures need to be scrutinized, but also very stimulating, as every contribution helps provide our operations with the best possible conditions.

The assignment includes, among other things, ensuring that resource allocation to our preschools and schools is correct, that all children and students have the right school placement, and that parents receive correct decisions regarding preschool and school placement. You are also responsible for ensuring that we receive and send out correct reimbursements – both to our own operations and to independent schools and other municipalities.

You will also ensure that students with special needs receive the financial resources they are entitled to.

The assignment also includes providing support to parents regarding preschool and school issues, as well as being responsible for placements within preschool and primary school. You will also assist principals, economists, and other functions working with child and student issues by providing information, good service, and relevant decision-making grounds.

Your Experience/Knowledge

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Post-secondary education, e.g., in economics or administration.
  • Experience working with administrative and economic systems.
  • Experience in case handling and exercising authority in public administration.
  • Experience in handling figures and statistical data.
  • Good communication skills in both speech and writing.
  • A good understanding of what it means to work in a politically governed organization.

Merits:

  • Experience working in or with preschool and/or school.
  • Experience in system administration.
  • Experience with systems such as Excel, Edlevo, Optiplan, and Public 360 or equivalent systems.

Personal Qualities:

  • Structured, systematic, and analytical.
  • Strong sense of quality.
  • Self-driven and responsible.
  • Solution-oriented and unpretentious.
  • Enjoys collaborating with various types of actors.

For this position, you must be able to present a valid extract from the police criminal record register. You order this yourself and bring it to a potential interview.

We place great importance on personal suitability.
