About us

Department of Biosystems and Technology

The questions in teaching and research revolve around the sustainable and efficient use of limited resources in production in greenhouses, on fields, and in stables.

Research combines detailed studies of the biology and technology of production systems with system analyses and interdisciplinary syntheses. The department has a broad competence profile in agricultural and horticultural crop production, bioenergy, technology, animal welfare, resource utilization, environmental impact, and safe food.

Teaching is primarily conducted within the programs in agroecology, horticulture, agriculture, and landscape architecture.
