As a tax investigator or tax auditor with us at the Swedish Tax Agency's Crime Prevention Department, you will have the opportunity to make a significant societal impact and work on stimulating investigations together with others.
About the job
The Crime Prevention Department's mission is to prevent, counteract, and investigate economic crime, serious tax evasion, both nationally and internationally, as well as the misuse of population registration as a criminal tool.
As an investigator or auditor with us, you will work on in-depth investigations aimed at countering intentional tax evasion both nationally and internationally, as well as preventing the abuse of the welfare system. The investigations often cover multiple tax types, and you will investigate, among other things, undeclared income, undeclared labor, or undeclared wages, as well as various schemes designed to reduce or completely avoid taxes.
We are currently looking specifically for someone who wants to work with one of the following tasks:
- Counteract advanced tax evasion where individuals and companies hide their assets and income by exploiting regulations in other countries and an international playing field.
- Counteract serious organized crime and criminal economies in collaboration with other authorities.
The tasks are extensive and complex and require close collaboration with colleagues. The work demands high efficiency and quality, and you are expected to be able to assess which measure and investigation form is best suited for the individual case.
You will have flexible working hours, and it is a given for us that you should have a balance between work and leisure. The location is Malmö. At the office in Malmö, we have approximately 65 colleagues working on these tasks.
About you

You should also have:
- A university education of at least 180 higher education credits (120 credits) in economics, law, or for the position another relevant university education.
- Current and relevant work experience from work with economics, auditing, or tax law, or alternatively current and relevant work experience from work with in-depth investigation or auditing from a state authority.
Good to know
The employment is permanent and may begin with a six-month probationary period.
Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security clearance with a registry check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be carried out before a decision on employment is made. For some of our tasks in a security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
