The mission of the Regional Development Department is to promote development, sustainable growth, and employment for all of Skåne based on political decisions. We act as a driving force and unifying power for regional development. The department is divided into nine units that work on issues including infrastructure, green transition, business development, internationalization, and societal analysis.

The Business and Skills Supply Unit works to support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and contribute to better skills supply for employers. Our unit consists of 19 people who take a strategic and operational approach to Skåne's development and drive efforts to address societal challenges and increase productivity in Skåne's business sector. We base our actions on the regional development strategy and the strategy for business promotion and skills supply as we collaborate with other development actors in the region.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role as a Business Developer, you will work with regional development assignments and be responsible for driving processes and projects forward in collaboration with external actors. You will identify and develop areas that contribute to increasing growth primarily among small and medium-sized enterprises and monitor effects for continued development in the region. Our unit works with export promotion initiatives, business development and transition, capital, business climate, and skills supply issues, and you will be part of this both strategically and operationally. Additionally, tasks include monitoring the external environment, analyses, and communication.

The position is based in Malmö, but travel within Skåne, to Stockholm, and in Europe may be required as needed. We offer you an exciting position with interesting and developing tasks, good opportunities for skills development, and access to a broad network.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university degree in a relevant field for the position, or other education and/or work experience that the employer deems equivalent. You also have several years of experience in business promotion and development work. Good language skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, are required for the position.

We prefer that you have completed a process and/or project management training and have experience in driving various types of processes or projects. Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have worked at the interface between the public and private sectors and have experience in strategic development work involving multiple stakeholders in the business sector, public sector, and/or academia.

We believe you are an open, curious, and driven colleague who is skilled at managing processes in a complex network environment and has the ability to quickly understand various issues. To succeed in this role, it is also important that you are outgoing, flexible, and unpretentious. Additionally, you are analytical and structured, with the ability to take a holistic approach to development needs and can initiate and prioritize actions. Moreover, we see that you are self-driven and have an easy time taking your own initiatives and have the ability to create and further develop networks. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
