The University of Arts in Malmö is seeking an Education Coordinator
The Department Office is responsible for the University of Arts' operational support in the form of administration, coordination, communication, concert production, as well as HR and financial support, and has approximately 16 employees.
The position of Education Coordinator is primarily linked to music education programs. The scope of responsibility may change.
Responsibilities
As an Education Coordinator, you will work both independently and together with educational leadership, teachers, students, and colleagues at the Department Office. In your work, you will contribute to the coordination and further development of the University of Arts' education programs at basic and advanced levels.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Conducting study counseling sessions with students.
- Assisting educational leadership in students' study planning within the university's common administrative systems.
- Being responsible for the planning and execution of admission tests.
- Participating in quality assurance work regarding course and program plans.
- Being responsible for planning student internships at external orchestral and opera institutions.
- Participating in scholarship administration.
- Collaborating with communicators regarding information and communication on the web.
- Providing support in the University of Arts' room and schedule planning work.
- Serving as a contact person and advisor on administrative law issues.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with good knowledge and experience of qualified administrative work within the university and higher education sector. It is desirable that you have knowledge of and experience with music education and experience working as a musician. Great importance will be placed on personal qualities.
Requirements for Employment
- An academic degree at least at the bachelor's level with a focus that the employer deems relevant for the position.
- Good knowledge of and ability to apply the university's regulations.
- Experience of qualified work in educational administration and coordination within the higher education sector.
- Good knowledge of study administrative systems.
- Analytical ability, drive, and a structured way of working.
- Good collaboration skills characterized by dialogue and flexibility.
- Good communication skills in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
Merits for Employment
- Education in music at a university of arts or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways.
- Experience of working as a musician.
- Education in and experience of administrative law issues.
- Experience of scheduling and room booking in complex education programs.

The Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts in Malmö is one of eight faculties within Lund University and consists of the University of Arts, University of Music, and University of Theatre, as well as Inter Arts Center. The Faculty offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs in fine arts, music, and theatre, as well as a number of courses of varying scope. Doctoral education and research with an artistic focus and in music pedagogy are also conducted here.
At the University of Music, musicians, church musicians, composers/arrangers, and music teachers are educated. Additionally, doctoral education in music pedagogy and artistic research in music, as well as standalone courses, are offered.
