About the job

Lidköping is in an expansive phase with several large infrastructure projects, major reinvestments, and an increased need for operations and maintenance of the water and sewage pipe network. You will become part of the Water-Sewage business area, a wonderful team with a forward-looking attitude and extensive experience in water and sewage and technical supply systems. Water-Sewage currently consists of approximately 40 employees and is led by a Business Area Manager for Water-Sewage and two subordinate Unit Managers, a Unit Manager for Water/Sewage Plants and a Unit Manager for the Pipe Network. Together we are responsible for the operation and maintenance of Lidköping's waterworks, sewage treatment plants, pipe networks, pumping stations, pressure boosting stations, and the development of our water and sewage infrastructure.

Tasks

As a Water and Sewage Engineer (VA Engineer), you will become a key person in the work to develop, renew, and operate our pipe network for water and sewage. You will work both strategically and practically, in an operation where social benefit and quality are at the center.

In the role of Water and Sewage Engineer, the following tasks may include:

Plan and investigate

• Participate in long-term water and sewage planning where you help plan for future needs and sustainable solutions
• Conduct technical investigations, capacity calculations, and flow analyses that form the basis for important decisions regarding renewal, investments, and expansion of the water and sewage system
• Work to analyze and reduce infiltration water and plan and drive reinvestments in the water and sewage pipe network to strengthen the function and lifespan of the water and sewage facilities
• Develop and create data, map bases, and models for the pipe network.

Design and execute

• Design and prepare technical documentation for new construction, reinvestment, and renewal of the water and sewage pipe network. You work with everything from early sketches to finished documentation and ensure that projects comply with current standards, technical requirements, and future needs
• Participate in and drive water and sewage projects in collaboration with consultants, contractors, and internal project managers. You act as a technical expert throughout the process – from startup and design to implementation and follow-up
• Make cost calculations and prepare economic documentation for water and sewage projects. You estimate project costs, analyze different technical alternatives, and provide documentation that forms the basis for investment decisions.

Support operations and improve quality

• Provide technical support to the operations organization and participate in troubleshooting during operational disturbances
• Analyze operational data and propose measures to improve function, operational reliability, and sustainability
• Documentation is a central part of the position. The work involves developing routines and work processes for the parts included in the area of responsibility as part of creating a long-term, structured, and sustainable way of working.

Collaborate internally and externally

• Participate in detailed planning work and provide opinions in building permit and development matters
• Participate in procurement processes concerning water and sewage operations
• The position involves a lot of customer contact, both verbal and written, with property owners, developers, consultants, and authorities.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a university degree/civil engineer degree in water and environmental technology or education/experience that the employer considers equivalent.

You have experience of design, operations, or investigation work within the water and sewage area and good knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS. We are looking for someone who has previously worked with, for example, design, construction management, production planning, cost estimates, and construction AMA. Experience with water and sewage tariffs, water and sewage law, and subscriber issues is also an asset. If you have worked in VA-banken or EDP Future, that is also a plus.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date according to agreement. Depending on previous experience, a probationary period may apply.
