Region area Västfastigheter Construction and Management is seeking a project manager for our strategic projects.

A selection of projects driven by the unit includes; Sahlgrenska Life, Botaniska, public transport depots, and new construction of maternity and neonatal care at Östra Sjukhuset.

Västfastigheter Construction and Management has customer responsibility, acts as a representative for the property owner in matters concerning the region's property stock, and provides the region's operations with premises. The Strategic Projects unit carries out new and renovation of our largest and most complex investment projects in the Västra Götaland region's premises. We work with projects from early stages, such as feasibility studies, and then continue through the project with program and system phases, design, procurement, and construction. The unit employs about 17 competent colleagues who together are responsible for the unit's delivery - in collaboration with consultants and contractors.

Responsibilities

As a project manager with us, you are responsible for driving assigned investment projects from early stages to final inspection. You ensure that the project meets the goals regarding time, cost, and content in good dialogue with collaborating stakeholders. You are responsible for procurements and orders of necessary consultants and contractors, manage contacts with authorities to ensure necessary permits/requirements, and act as the client and ordering representative. You may have several parallel projects ongoing simultaneously in different phases. In the role, you report to the project's steering group and collaborate with working groups consisting of representatives from those who will operate in our buildings, internal requirements setters, and industry specialists.

We operate from our activity-based office at Regionens Hus in Gothenburg, but since the projects are driven from our project offices at the project sites, your workplace will vary depending on the needs of the projects. Travel is therefore included in the position, and where possible, we travel by public transport.

Qualifications

You are an educated civil or university engineer in civil engineering or have other education and experience that we consider equivalent. You have several years of experience in independently leading larger construction projects in positions such as project manager or project director. You have experience in driving project groups towards the project's common goals regarding time, cost, and content and in accordance with applicable construction law industry regulations. You also have experience in providing ongoing financial forecasts and conducting project follow-ups.

Good experience in procurement is a requirement to take on this role. If you have also worked within the framework of LOU (the Public Procurement Act), it is an advantage.

You thrive with a large responsibility and understand the importance of always having a holistic perspective. We are looking for someone who is attentive with the ability to create trust-inspiring relationships. Your drive makes you self-sufficient and willing to make quick decisions when needed and act on them. You have an easy time organizing your work and planning efficiently. Good communication skills are of great importance, both verbally and in writing.

A driving license (B) is desirable for the position.
