Project Engineer with a focus on cost estimation for Project Vasastan

Do you want to contribute to one of Sweden's largest infrastructure investments? We are now looking for a Project Engineer with a focus on cost estimation for Project Vasastan, which is part of the West Link in Gothenburg. Project Vasastan is included in the Haga sub-phase and involves the construction of Haga station. The project includes tunnel excavation for a comprehensive station area with a span of over 50 meters, including track tunnels, parallel rescue and service tunnels, as well as ventilation and smoke tunnels. The contract is technically advanced and involves complex structures with several construction challenges.

About the role

In this role, you will act as a link between production and finance. You will combine an understanding of production with analysis of costs and risks, contributing to creating a clear picture of the project's financial conditions. You will work closely with production and be involved in everything from estimates and forecasts to change and additional work. The role is both analytical and operational, which requires a good understanding of how the work is performed in practice. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop quickly in a central function within the project.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Prepare, analyze, and update production estimates in ongoing projects
• Support the project in forecasting and cost tracking
• Perform quantity calculations and cost analyses
• Identify and assess risks and establish estimates with relevant assumptions and reserves
• Monitor costs and compare planned outcomes with actual costs
• Prepare estimates for change and additional work (ÄTA) and ensure correct compensation

Who are we looking for

To succeed in this role, you have a strong interest in production and a good understanding of the construction process. You are analytical, structured, and have the ability to see connections between technology, cost, and the overall project. You are meticulous yet pragmatic in your approach to work. We expect you to have the following background to take on this role:

• Relevant education in construction and civil engineering, road and water, or equivalent
• Experience in production, cost estimation work, or tendering within civil engineering projects
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical descriptions
• Good understanding of what drives costs and risks in projects
• Experience with estimation software and digital tools, as well as familiarity with handling large data sets
• Good collaboration skills and a positive attitude
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Driver's license B

Knowledge of contract law and AMA, as well as experience with estimation and project systems, is a merit.
