At Hässleholm Hospital, approximately 300 employees work within the Department of Orthopedics, operating at the hospitals in Hässleholm and Kristianstad. In Hässleholm, we have the small hospital with the big drive, providing security for our patients when their health falters. Here, proximity and the advantages of a small hospital are combined with knowledge, humble pride, and great care for the patients. We are committed to ensuring our working methods are the best possible regarding both work environment and patient safety.

Our orthopedic department has 19 beds for planned surgeries, primarily focused on hips and knees, but other surgeries such as spine, shoulder, and foot are also performed. Surgeries are scheduled on weekdays. Our patients are often fundamentally healthy and have short care pathways. We are proud of our short lengths of stay and well-developed care pathways, which are the subject of continuous improvement work.

We are also carrying out the project Future Orthopedics Hässleholm (FORTH), involving a planned reconstruction of the entire surgical unit. This is an exciting development of the orthopedic activity, featuring large high-tech operating rooms. This will include innovative development of patient processes regarding logistics, staff, and equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We welcome both those with more experience and recent graduates.

In the role of a nurse with us, you will perform common tasks for a nurse on an orthopedic department. You will work with preoperative preparations and postoperative care, as well as documentation. The work is characterized by caring for energetic and healthy patients admitted for planned surgeries who recover quickly.

Our focus is to provide the patient with the best possible nursing care, and here you will become an important part of the work and the team. We have good cohesion with experienced colleagues in the field. Development of care flows is a natural part of our operations, and we welcome all our employees to participate.

The department has access to an education nurse who plans introductions, facilitates reflection, organizes training days, and provides micro-training for competence development. The education nurse also assists with clinical mentoring. As a new employee, you will receive an individually adapted introduction based on your previous experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

You must be a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within the Swedish healthcare system. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale are a requirement. It is an advantage if you have experience from ward work and/or orthopedic operations.
