The Forensic Psychiatry Division is part of the Administration of Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, and Assistive Devices and consists of forensic psychiatric units in Malmö, Trelleborg, Helsingborg, Hässleholm, and Kristianstad. We currently have approximately 300 employees and care for individuals sentenced by a court to forensic psychiatric care. Many suffer from psychotic disorders, multiple disabilities with functional impairments, and substance abuse. Secondary complications such as lack of formal education, social isolation, and exclusion are common. The goal of forensic psychiatric care is to rehabilitate and habilitate individuals suffering from severe mental disorders to lead a daily life in society with increased psychosocial functioning and reduced risk of reoffending.

Outpatient care in Malmö is responsible for the rehabilitation and habilitation of patients sentenced to forensic psychiatric care when inpatient care is no longer deemed necessary. Here, we work in teams consisting of registered nurses and assistant nurses, with doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers attached to the team. In our work, we strive for close collaboration with Social Services and other psychiatric units in network work surrounding our patients. We also work proactively with home visits to follow up on our patients. We practice person-centered care and are implementing our new working method based on the Flexible Assertive Community Treatment (F-ACT) model.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you interested in following a long-term care process with complex diagnostic considerations and treatment challenges in close collaboration with competent colleagues and our healthcare partners? Do you also want the opportunity for varied tasks in both inpatient and outpatient care, consultation, education, or supervision? Then you are likely the right person for our operation! We are currently seeking a Resident Physician (Underläkare) for a fixed-term employment of six months with the possibility of extension.

In your role as a Resident Physician, you will participate in the development of forensic psychiatry in Skåne and contribute to making us a continued attractive workplace. Team collaboration, where different competencies and experiences enrich and complement each other, is fundamental to our working method. Our resident physicians play an important function in the department, and it is therefore expected that you are ready to take an active role in the care provided, under supervision. Our operation is characterized by diversity and high competence.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you with a medical degree and Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's framework. It is an asset for the position if you are a licensed physician with the authority to practice within the Swedish healthcare system.

As a person, you are curious, take your own initiatives, and have good collaborative skills. Furthermore, you consider it a matter of course to treat both patients and colleagues in the best possible way. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Assistive Devices is tasked with managing assistive devices prescribed to patients in Skåne. The administration also includes vision, hearing, and deaf services, as well as youth clinics in Skåne.
