The Palliative Care Department in Ystad is organizationally part of the Administration of Close Care and Health, within the operational area of mobile teams and specialized palliative care in southeastern Skåne. We offer specialized palliative care aimed at relieving symptoms and preventing suffering associated with incurable or chronic illness.
Patients are often, but by no means always, in the final stages of life. We have close cooperation with Advanced Home Care (ASIH). Severe pain, anxiety, and infections are examples of common reasons for admission. After a period of treatment, some patients can return home.
The operation in Ystad is a unit consisting of teams with nurses, assistant nurses, counselors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, pharmacists, physicians, medical secretaries, hospital chaplains, psychologists, and a unit manager. We constantly work to develop and strengthen teamwork to create an attractive workplace. Each employee contributes their specific competencies, where our joint efforts make a big difference for patients and their relatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for a nursing colleague who is confident in their role and independent in their work. We offer you a developing and exciting job where you become an important part of our multiprofessional team.
The work is person-centered with a focus on making a difference every day for our patients and their relatives. In your daily work, you will face many independent decisions, but there are always colleagues in the team to seek support and help from. The work can range from medical tasks to nursing and support for relatives. This means meeting the patient's physical, psychological, and existential needs, as well as providing support to the relatives. If you are interested in learning and developing, both as a nurse and as a human being, you will thrive in our team.
We provide care around the clock with shifts during the day, evening, and night. In this position, there is an opportunity to work permanent day/evening shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a licensed nurse with eligibility to work in Swedish healthcare, preferably with a few years of professional experience. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are a requirement. We prefer that you have specialized training in oncology and/or palliative care.
You are confident in your professional role and keep the patient in focus, which means you have the ability to see the patient as an individual and their needs. Part of the work involves support and conversation, so it is important that you are communicative and have the ability to meet people on different levels. Furthermore, you have a flexible approach and can prioritize between different tasks when the work pace is high. To thrive with us, you need to be able to work independently and make your own decisions. We appreciate that you are willing to share your knowledge and cheerful mood to create a good working climate. We value a positive basic attitude and a willingness to participate in our development work. Since you will become an important employee in our operation, we place great importance on good teamwork skills and personal suitability.
