Making a Difference. Every Day.
Welcome to Skurup Health Center, a pleasant health center with a great working environment, located only a ten-minute walk from the train station in Skurup. There are excellent transport links from both Malmö and Ystad. We are Scania's oldest health center, offering high accessibility and satisfied patients.
The health center is representative of primary care in many ways, and you will encounter patients of all ages with various diseases and conditions. We have approximately 50 employees and around 11,500 registered patients.
The medical staff consists of eight specialists in general practice, five residents (ST), and two junior doctors (AT). Our focus is to create a good educational climate with open doors, regular personal supervision once a week, and a daily "question doctor" function with specialist physicians.
In the culture we have built, we help each other and share responsibility for the working environment at the health center, ensuring our patients receive the right care at the right time with the right competence. This has been developed through daily interdisciplinary joint assessment rounds and an acute track where nursing assistants, nurses, general practice specialists, and ST/AT doctors work in teams. All patients are registered with a named doctor, and we see that the goal of 1,100 registered patients per general practice specialist is not far away.
The health center also operates a district nurse clinic, a child health clinic, and specialist clinics in areas such as asthma/COPD, diabetes, memory disorders, and geriatric care. We also have a rehabilitation team with five physiotherapists with their own clinic, as well as a psychosocial team consisting of an occupational therapist, two psychotherapists, and a counselor. Furthermore, we offer medical support to municipal home care with well-established routines following many years of good cooperation. On March 2nd, we opened the doors to our family center, a collaboration between the midwifery clinic and Skurup Municipality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include standard work for a specialist in general practice, such as planned clinic work including annual check-ups and follow-ups. Acute care is conducted through teamwork where doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants assist each other.
A doctors' meeting is held once a week, and one doctor manages scheduling together with the secretary. We have a daily short joint assessment round before lunch to discuss how patient cases can best be handled.
There are also opportunities for additional areas of responsibility based on your interests. The evening and weekend clinics are now run by the administration "Nära Vård och hälsa" but are largely staffed by volunteers from us within primary care.
QUALIFICATIONS
Do you have a strong interest in general practice and consider good treatment towards both patients and colleagues a matter of course? Then we believe you have excellent prerequisites to thrive with us!
We welcome you who are a licensed physician with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare and are a specialist in general practice. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 are also a requirement for the position.
For us, it is important that you work with the patient's best interests in focus and that you enjoy a varied daily routine. We also value that you can work independently and take your own initiatives, while having good collaboration skills and enjoying both a well-knit group of doctors and interdisciplinary cooperation.
Great importance is attached to personal suitability. In this recruitment, continuous selection is applied. We warmly welcome your application already today. We look forward to getting to know you!
