VE Geriatric Care at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) is in an intensive development phase. We are building a modern, cohesive, and equitable geriatric care system for our vulnerable elderly, and we are looking for you to join us on this journey.

The geriatrics at Sus is in constant development. We provide care to a heterogeneous patient group and operate acute geriatric care beds, including hip patients / hip track. Our work is characterized by person-centered care and strong teamwork with nursing staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, and social workers.

We are building geriatrics that reaches further. Our mission is growing, and with it, our ability to influence. In addition to inpatient care, we are now staffing mobile care forms and providing consulting support to both primary and inpatient care. We actively work to spread geriatric knowledge and approaches to more actors in the care chain, so that elderly patients receive more equitable and cohesive care regardless of where they meet the healthcare system. We are also exploring the possibility of developing outpatient services.

Education and Research
We have a comprehensive educational mission and are an important part of the basic education of doctors. With us, you will have the opportunity to mentor BT doctors, rotating colleagues, and junior doctors. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We offer a rewarding job where you as a doctor have the opportunity to rotate between different assignments in the unit between inpatient wards, mobile care forms, and consulting assignments.

Your responsibilities also include mentoring students, AT / BT, and ST doctors. You are also expected to contribute to training in the department for both doctors and other staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. You have specialist competence in geriatrics or internal medicine. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale are required. You should have completed or planned a course in clinical supervision.

For employment as an assistant chief physician, you must also have full-time service of at least three years (documented effective time) and clinical skill and independence within geriatrics, internal medicine, or general medicine. A dissertation and/or specialist exam can be credited for a total of six months of clinical service. The following is also required:

• Completed or planned clinical supervisor training.
• Documented teaching and mentoring merits.

For employment as a chief physician, at least five years of full-time service (documented effective time) and a dissertation are also required.

At a university hospital unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. This can be acquired through mentoring, for example, nursing and medical students as well as physicians in training and as co- or main supervisors of doctoral students. Clearly describe in your application completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience in supervision, and teaching at various levels. Personal suitability is highly valued.
