Medical service provides support and service to the Skåne healthcare system. Our services range from laboratory medicine and medical technology to assignments in pre-hospital care and research.

Laboratory Medicine Base is a specialty-independent and growing area within the Medical Service administration. The operations are conducted in Helsingborg, Hässleholm, Kristianstad, Landskrona, Lund, Malmö, Trelleborg, Ystad, and Ängelholm. In total, we are about 500 employees, with the largest staff category being biomedical analysts. Together, we provide healthcare with diagnostics to support care and treatment, and conduct a broad and high-tech operation within the specialties of clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, clinical immunology, and transfusion medicine, as well as sampling and functional examinations. Annually, we send out approximately 17 million test results. In the coming years, the operation will further expand to adapt the diagnostic offerings for future healthcare.

In addition to diagnostics, the area’s assignments also include consulting services for healthcare, training of doctors and biomedical analysts, and collaboration with universities on current research and development projects. Our operations also include the area of Imaging and Laboratory Technology, which is responsible for medical technical safety.

To maintain quality and competence, we continuously collaborate with other areas within the administration and have close cooperation with both managers, process leaders, and doctors in various specialties. We actively work on developing and improving methods, flows, and processes to create competitiveness tailored to the future needs of healthcare.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We now have the opportunity to welcome a biomedical analyst to us in Lund!

Laboratory Medicine Base in Lund is a laboratory that is open around the clock. We serve healthcare in Lund but also to some extent Skåne and the rest of Sweden. We perform several hundred different analyses and receive about ten thousand samples per day. We have a high degree of automation and digitalization. We have processes in general chemistry, immunochemistry, drug analysis, serology, coagulation, hematology, and more. Together with experienced colleagues, you will have the opportunity to grow in your role and contribute to continuing to drive our operations forward.

As a biomedical analyst with us, your tasks will be varied and offer great opportunities for development:

• independent laboratory work and referral handling
• assessment and technical approval of analysis results
• troubleshooting technical problems
• supervision of students and new employees
• reporting and documenting disturbances and deviations in equipment, work routines, and operations
• contact with customers regarding inquiries and results delivery
• participation in continuous improvement work, thus influencing both work methods and processes.

The operations are conducted around the clock, and we work in schedule groups with predefined working hours. Night shifts occur in exceptional cases.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed biomedical analyst with the authority to operate within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are a requirement for the position. We consider work experience from a clinical laboratory as meritorious.

We are looking for a social and communicative person who easily collaborates and brings joy to your colleagues. Additionally, we see that you are responsible, work systematically, and have a flexible mindset with the ability to find new solutions. You should enjoy working in the laboratory and preferably have a technical interest. You have a great understanding of the customer’s requirements and needs, as well as how the results of our work affect the patient. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
