The Swedish Fortification Agency owns, develops, and manages real estate for total defense. We are experts in fortification, meaning protection and construction technology. Our main mission is to contribute to increased defense capabilities – for a secure and free Sweden.
Your daily work – contribute to strengthening Sweden's total defense
The Swedish Fortification Agency is in a strong phase of expansion with large investment volumes to continue developing and building real estate and facilities within the defense sector.
At the Swedish Fortification Agency, there is an independent internal audit appointed by the Board, responsible for providing the Board with reliable and objective evaluations of risk management as well as control and governance processes based on an internal audit plan established by the Board.
The Finance Department is responsible for steering, coordination, and follow-up of the Agency's operational and economic management, process work, and overall investigation and analysis work, as well as for internal operational audits and regulatory compliance.
To the Governance Unit, we are now seeking an experienced Compliance Officer. As a Compliance Officer, you will work proactively together with a colleague to support the authority regarding quality in regulatory compliance by evaluating and preventing the authority's risks. You are responsible for guiding the organization's employees in matters concerning risks, legislation, and regulatory compliance through methodological support, information, and consulting. On behalf of management, you are responsible for controlling that rules and guidelines are followed in a satisfactory manner within all operational areas.
The role includes ongoing situation analysis of regulatory compliance and ensuring that the methods for evaluation are continuously developed in a way that takes advantage of digitalization opportunities. You will have broad contact surfaces, and establishing and developing networks is an important part of the assignment.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have an academic degree with a focus on economics or law, or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You have several years of experience working with compliance through work with risk identification, risk assessment, and evaluation of regulatory compliance. You have knowledge of and understanding for administrative law and regulatory frameworks within the public sector and experience of working proactively and consultatively with good results.
You have good knowledge of administrative IT support systems. You communicate and express yourself well both orally and in writing in Swedish. A driver's license (Class B) is a requirement.
It is merit if you have further education in auditing and relevant experience from an audit firm or other activities within internal control and supervision. It is also positive if you have knowledge and experience of working in a government agency. It is also to your advantage if you have experience from the construction or real estate industry.

For the role, you must be systematic and structured and have good analytical skills. About the employment
The position is a permanent employment and may begin with a probationary period. As a permanent employee, you will be assigned a wartime position. Location is Eskilstuna or Stockholm. Employment with us requires Swedish citizenship and implies placement in a security class. A security clearance with register control will be carried out before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
