Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who works for the child perspective in the preschool world and believes it is important to create more opportunities for all children in preschool with a clear gender-conscious approach that is inclusive and norm-creative.

Personal qualities we seek in our future colleague include: being positive and curious, having the ambition to work closely with research in pedagogical didactics and methodology, being a good role model, and having the ability to inspire colleagues, children, and guardians. You need to have experience and a desire to work age-integrated (mixed ages) and therefore be able to adapt your teaching leadership for all children regardless of age, gender, or other conditions. Of course, you need to have a strong belief in The Competent Child. It is very important for us that you can handle all everyday tasks and situations that are part of working in preschool. This may involve conflict management between children, interventions and adaptations for children in need of special support, as well as the contact between preschool and home. We are looking for someone who is used to following established routines and the proven structure for the day and week, who can follow the planning and independently lead gatherings, conduct teaching with clear goals related to all areas of the curriculum and in our project work. We are looking for someone who wants and can participate in the children's play and learning both outdoors in the forest next to the preschool and on a full-day excursion away on longer adventures, and of course inside the preschool in our learning rooms. We have developed a learning environment plan where all areas of knowledge are stimulated. With us, you will independently conduct teaching for all children in language, mathematics, natural sciences and technology, music, singing, dance, drama, and all creative techniques in the studios through a norm-creative and inclusive approach.

We also welcome the use of TAKK, AAC, or signs as alternative and augmentative communication and have good knowledge of working with multilingualism and supporting children in developing their mother tongue(s) and Swedish.

The Position

The position of preschool assistant is 100%. You need to have preschool assistant training and a very good ability and experience of working in preschool. In your role with us, you will have a significant responsibility as an educator in accordance with the curriculum and the Education Act. At Fyra Elementen Preschools, high demands are placed on all employees in our pedagogical teams. We have an enormously important mission to carry out together with the children. You will be offered opportunities to work with the principal and management to strengthen and quality assure our Reggio Emilia-inspired approach and our ambitious work towards a toxin-free preschool. Through systematic quality work and in planned and spontaneous teaching, you will, together with colleagues, plan, follow up, and evaluate that our goals are achieved, that our routines, plans, and policies are followed, and that we together develop our preschool so that all children receive the support and stimulation they need in their growth.

At Fyra Elementen Grävlingen, we work in a low environment that is adapted for children in a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach. We believe in the competent child and take the best from most traditional educational orientations. In all our educational rooms and environments, learning with a clear purpose is ongoing everywhere, and we strive to develop our approach for a more chemical-smart and toxin-free learning environment to reduce our footprint on the planet and our environment. The children's interests create themes and projects based on the curriculum, our educational plan, Agenda 2030, and Green Flag as well as other local, national, and international guidelines. The Convention on the Rights of the Child is an important guiding document for us in our democracy work.
