Team Leader for the Unit for Persons with Disabilities

The Department of Social Services and Leisure in Bromma City District Administration consists of four different areas.

We are now looking for a team leader for the Unit for Persons with Disabilities, which is one of four units within the Adult Area. The remaining three units in the area are the Unit for Addiction and Social Psychiatry and the Units for Housing and Support Measures 1 and 2.

The Unit for Persons with Disabilities is led by a unit manager and by you - our new team leader.

The unit is a commissioning unit with 18 employees. The unit is led by a unit manager and a team leader. Additionally, the unit consists of 14 caseworkers (4 caseworkers working with children and 10 caseworkers working with adults), a contact secretary, and an administrative officer.

Your role

As a team leader, you work on behalf of the unit manager and actively contribute to good leadership within the unit. You are the closest supervisor for the caseworkers and support them both in decision-making and in social work.

Your responsibilities as a team leader include:

  • Supporting and coaching employees in complex cases
  • Leading case discussions in groups and individually with employees
  • Supporting employees in decisions about interventions
  • Supporting employees in statements and appeals and representing the board in court negotiations
  • Ensuring that employees make legally secure decisions
  • Participating in the development of the unit's routines and working methods
  • Together with the unit manager, being responsible for the introduction of new employees
  • Representing the operation in collaborative forums both internally and externally
  • Managing planning and prioritization during employee absences and ensuring that daily operations function in consultation with the manager
  • Adhering to and participating in changed working methods if such are implemented
  • Making decisions in accordance with the applicable delegation order

Your qualifications and experience

You have a degree in social work and several years of experience in public authority operations within the area of disabilities. You have very good knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, and guidelines that govern the work. As a team leader, we want you to be structured and stable and have an understanding of budget management. You find it easy to coach and teach others, to learn new things yourself, and to work towards set goals with a holistic perspective. You are flexible and understand the importance of close and operational leadership and can make quick decisions when the work requires it.

Desirable experience

Experience in leadership
Good knowledge of Stockholm City's social IT systems
Work experience from Stockholm City as an employer
Experience of working within a politically governed organization
