NU Healthcare is part of the Västra Götaland Region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Norra Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The hospital's catchment area includes 280,000 inhabitants. Together, we are about 5,000 employees who work every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare. We are located on the west coast, and our area offers varied nature with both sea, mountains, forests, and lakes.

NU Healthcare's Ambulance Operations

The ambulance operations under NU Healthcare are organized into six sub-areas: Bohus North (Tanum, Strömstad, and Kungshamn), Bohus West (Munkedal, Hallinden, and Lysekil), Dalsland North (Åmål, Bengtsfors), Dalsland South (Dals Ed, Mellerud, and Färgelanda), Trestad West (Uddevalla and Henån), and Trestad East (Trollhättan and Vänersborg).

About Us

The Bohus West Ambulance is part of NU Healthcare and the Västra Götaland Region. The department includes the stations in Munkedal, Hallinden, and Lysekil.

In total, we are about 40 employees who staff 3 emergency vehicles, 1 day vehicle, and 1 assessment vehicle. The catchment area presents an exciting and geographically challenging assignment as it is about 80 km to the emergency hospital in Trollhättan, which we primarily drive to.

In the ambulance operations at NU Healthcare, we see that many different competencies are a great asset and advantage. We strive to maintain a 70/30% distribution between nurses and paramedics. In NU Healthcare, you are a specialist nurse working as both an ambulance nurse, anesthetist, ICU, emergency care, and district nurse.

Qualifications

Licensed nurse.

To work as a nurse in the ambulance, it is desirable that you have experience from/or ambulance care emergency medical unit. Further education in ambulance care, anesthesiology, or intensive care is meritorious. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, flexibility, the ability to work independently, and social competence. You should have good physical capacity; tests are included in the recruitment process.

A Class B driver's license is required; a Class C1 driver's license is desirable.

Working Hours

Working hours are scheduled with shifts including daytime, night, and weekends.

Interviews and tests will be conducted continuously during the application period.

The position is a temporary contract for 10 months. The position may be placed in a security class. This means that a security review and background check may be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act before employment.
