Our surgical department performs all types of eye surgery. We work with both day surgery and inpatient care where teamwork, technology, and development go hand in hand.

Job Responsibilities

As an operating nurse or ophthalmic nurse with us, you will have a central role in the team around the patient. You will:

• Be responsible for sterility and instrumentation during ophthalmic surgical procedures
• Participate in one or more of our seven surgical processes together with process-responsible doctors
• Work closely with patients and contribute to safe, secure, and professional care

Working hours are mainly during the day, but on-call work may occur according to a rotating schedule some evenings, nights, and weekends.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a licensed operating nurse or ophthalmic nurse
• Has experience in ophthalmic surgery – however, this is not a requirement, as we offer internal training
• Has a positive, secure, and collaborative approach
• Thrives both in a team and in working independently, contributing to a warm, inclusive, and well-functioning work environment
• Is structured, curious, and wants to develop within ophthalmic surgical operations

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. Additionally, it also includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.

In the event of recruiting nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.
