University Lecturer in Nursing Science with a Focus on Surgery

Your Responsibilities

As a university lecturer, you will teach and examine students and work with course and program development and course administration within nursing science with a focus on surgery. Part of your work consists of teaching at the undergraduate level within the general nursing area, both in theoretical courses and in clinical placements. You will collaborate with representatives of the professional field, participate in assessment discussions during students' clinical placements, and supervise thesis work. In collaboration with the professional field, assignments as a clinical lecturer may also be included in the position. The employment includes 10% professional development time.

Your Qualifications

For the position, you are required to have a master's degree in nursing science or another area that the employer assesses as equivalent, as well as demonstrated pedagogical skills. You must have a nursing degree, Swedish nursing license, and a specialist nursing degree in surgery. Furthermore, professional experience as a surgical nurse and good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing are required. You have the ability to communicate clearly, documented good collaboration skills, and the ability to work independently.

Meritorious:

• Professional experience as a nurse in emergency care
• Student supervisor training
• Experience with simulation exercises

A general eligibility requirement for permanent employment as a teacher is completion of higher education pedagogical training equivalent to 10 weeks of full-time studies, or equivalent competence. An employee who lacks higher education pedagogical training must complete the training within the first two years of employment.
