In the Design and Trademark Department, we work within two areas of operation. We investigate the possibility of obtaining exclusive rights to trademarks and designs. Our mission is also to provide effective and appropriate systems for this and to disseminate information and knowledge about various intellectual property rights. The department consists of 50 employees located in three units, and we are now looking for two additional trademark officers.

Job Responsibilities

As a trademark officer, you will handle both national and international cases, and it may also be relevant to process both new applications and applications for changes to existing registrations. You will independently review applications based on trademark law and applicable practice.

Among the tasks are writing rejection decisions, informing applicants and the public about intellectual property rights, and providing advice and guidance in the area.

Tasks also include participating in the department's development work and representing PRV in collaborations with other authorities. Participation in international cooperation may also be relevant in the long term.

As a trademark officer, you are also expected to participate in PRV's external information work, which means that travel may occur in the position. The employment begins with an internal training period, together with a mentor who supports you in your development as an officer.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a university degree (120 credits/180 ECTS) in social sciences or law, or a degree from a vocational training program, e.g., Paralegal. Degree certificate must be attached.
  • at least 4 years of relevant work experience from similar work
  • very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • good knowledge of MS Office package

It is advantageous if you speak other languages, such as French, German, or Spanish.

To perform well in the role of trademark officer, you need to:

  • have a very good ability to work independently
  • be systematic
  • be meticulous
  • be structured and have the ability to prioritize.
  • have very good collaboration and communication skills as the work requires cooperation with colleagues and our customers/applicants
