Administrator at Gruvberget Prison

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand, and client transport.

The Gävle area includes the closed prison Gävle, the open prison Gruvberget, and the remand center Bomhus. Our operations run around the clock, and the largest professional group is prison officers, with over ten other positions to support our mission. At the prisons Gävle and Gruvberget, inmates are engaged in education, other structured activities, treatment programs, self-management, or in work operations primarily consisting of carpentry production. You can easily reach Gävle Prison and Bomhus Remand Center by public transport, while access to a car is required for Gruvberget Prison. Staff parking is available.

Gruvberget is an open prison in the lowest security class. The prison has space for 60 clients and has about 40 employees. The facility is located in a beautiful part of Hälsingland, surrounded by forests and lakes. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

To succeed in the role of administrator, it is important to have a structured approach to work, take responsibility, and drive your work forward independently. As one of two administrators at Gruvberget Prison, you often act as the spider in the web, which means you need to be flexible and enjoy collaborating with both internal and external partners, relating to them in a responsive and smooth manner.

Examples of tasks included in the role of administrator at Gruvberget Prison are handling tasks related to client and operational administration, as well as being responsible for the registration and management of client cases, client files, and diaries, sentence calculations, etc. The work also includes tasks such as booking travel and financial administration, such as processing clients' wages, benefits, and personal funds. It is important to maintain good legal security in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• Completed upper secondary education in the form of a diploma or certificate
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing
• Good computer skills
• Experience in administrative work within municipal or state operations

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Experience in administrative work within the prison and probation system
• Experience in sentence calculations
• Experience in archive management and diary keeping
• Work experience in finance and invoice management
• Education in administration and finance
