Substitute Teachers Wanted in Umeå Municipality

Umeå Municipality has approximately 90 preschools and 50 primary schools.

Here, educators and staff collaborate to ensure that children and young people develop and have a safe upbringing. This is where children learn to read, write, and calculate. This is where teenagers develop their skills and abilities for the future. Here, Sweden's most important job is performed - to create hope for the future among the youth!

The Preschool and Primary School Administration is looking for substitutes for the school’s operational areas who can work on short notice and provide support when the regular staff is unavailable. We are looking for substitutes for both preschool and primary school.

The Role of a Substitute Teacher

Based on your circumstances and the needs of the operations, you have the opportunity to work at different workplaces within our operational areas. You specify which days and times you can work using our digital substitute management system. Your assignments can vary between one and 14 days. If your availability matches any of the operational needs, a request for work and potential booking will be sent via SMS.

Working as a substitute provides valuable experience and creates opportunities for other employment within Umeå Municipality.

Please note that a substitute job does not guarantee any employment level and is based on the needs of the operations.

About You

You thrive in a varied work environment and are flexible. You are proactive and engaged. You place great importance on good communication and punctuality. You have good collaboration skills and are a role model for children and young people.

Requirements

• Completed high school diploma or equivalent childcare education
• Experience in pedagogical work as assessed relevant by the employer
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form
• Ability to work at least five shifts/month for a minimum of six months
• Valid extract from the National Police's criminal record

Meritorious

• Ongoing or completed pedagogical education or planned pedagogical education
• Advanced knowledge in practical or theoretical subjects
• Driver's license and regular access to a car
• Ability to work outside the city center

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and your ability to reach operations where there is currently a high demand for substitutes. Right now, we prioritize substitutes who can work in the Umeå area.
