Hällsboskolan Umeå is a ten-year, state special school within the Swedish National Agency for Special Needs Education and Schools.

The school accepts students with severe speech impairment from all over the country. Accommodation is offered for students who do not live in the area. The school has a clear focus on language-supportive and language-developing teaching and adapts the school day according to the individual needs of the students. Teaching is based on the regulations for special schools according to the basic or adapted primary school curricula.

The school's goal is for students to have the conditions to achieve educational goals, be involved and active in various social contexts, and develop as individuals.

We have skilled, dedicated employees with high competence, and the language-developing approach permeates our pedagogical work. There is also a student-centered health team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Hällsboskolan Umeå looks forward to welcoming you who have a genuine interest and commitment to see and understand our students and, based on that, create the best learning environment.

As a special educator/special teacher in the health team, you will work with students' knowledge development towards the goals at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

You will coordinate special educational efforts in collaboration with special teachers, teachers, and other educators. You will assess and map support needs, guide and support educators during assessments and action programs, and be part of our health team consisting of a counselor, psychologist, school nurse, school doctor, and speech therapist. The focus of your work will be to be part of finding solutions and creating good conditions for students to achieve the educational goals. You will have close cooperation with guardians and other networks around the student.

Together with our employees, you will also be responsible for promoting a positive collaborative climate in the school activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who;

  • Has a teaching degree
  • Has a special education degree or special teacher degree

Work experience;

  • Has in-depth knowledge of reading and writing learning
  • Has experience working broadly in the field.
  • Has experience working with complex special educational issues
  • Has experience writing pedagogical assessments, planning and working with extra adaptations and special support as well as action programs
  • Has experience in result analysis and planning interventions based on this
  • Has good ability to collaborate and develop new contacts
  • Has the ability to work in a structured manner and with good foresight
  • Has the ability to take personal responsibility and initiative
  • Is flexible, solution-focused, and development-oriented

Other skills;

  • You express yourself well in speech and writing.
  • You have good IT skills.

It is an advantage if you have;

  • Competence in pedagogical work focusing on severe speech impairment
  • Competence in Swedish as a second language
  • Experience working with students with NPF issues
  • Knowledge of ICT as a tool in students' learning
  • Knowledge of alternative tools adapted to the school's target group
  • TAKK competence
  • Experience working as a special educator/special teacher in a health team.

Personal qualities

  • You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents.
  • You have a strong commitment to issues related to the school's activities.
  • You enjoy working with continuous improvements.
  • You have analytical skills, are structured, and enjoy driving development forward.
  • You have the ability to create consensus and build good relationships, and you are clear in your communication.

OTHER

A probationary period of 6 months applies.

A criminal record extract must be presented before employment.

In the event of a societal crisis, you may be directed to work between the agency's areas of operation based on your placement.
