High School Teacher in Technology and Programming

The High School and Adult Education Board is responsible for the municipality's commitments under school legislation for high school, adapted high school, municipal adult education, special education for adults, and Swedish language instruction for immigrants. The board is also responsible for work-oriented rehabilitation and the municipal refugee reception. We collaborate to ensure that the municipality's citizens learn, develop, and can live an independent life. We have Sweden's most important job - our mission is to instill hope for the future.

Maja Beskowgymnasiet is Umeå's second largest high school. Over 800 high school students study here. Maja Beskowgymnasiet is one of Sweden's most modern high schools and Umeå's newest. The school is centrally located, between the city center and Umeå University. It takes about 5 minutes to bike from central Umeå to Maja Beskowgymnasiet. Daily life at Maja Beskowgymnasiet is characterized by joy and enthusiasm. Students should feel so good that they want to come here every day. We see all students and have good relationships between students and educators. In our activities, students should feel that they have adults to talk to. All of this is the foundation for developing and learning in school. Caring for students is the most important thing for us!

We are now looking for a high school teacher in technology and programming!

Your Responsibilities

In this position, you will teach technology, programming, AI, information technology, web server programming, and web development. As a teacher, your task is to plan and implement instruction, as well as to follow up and assess students' knowledge development. You will work closely with colleagues regarding students' learning and development, and be an active part of the team's collective work. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for driving and developing the pedagogical work based on the curriculum and the goals of the organization.

About You

You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, structure, and context for all students. You are well-versed in the school's governing documents. You differentiate and vary instruction based on students' needs. You share your knowledge and experiences to contribute to collegial learning. An important part of the teaching role is to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Requirements

• Qualified high school teacher with authorization in technology, programming, AI, information technology, web server programming, and web development.
• Have/applied for a teaching license.
• Experience teaching the above subjects.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
• Valid extract from the criminal record.

Meritorious

• Engineering degree.
