Do you want to teach with the mountains as your classroom – where small groups and close proximity to students and colleagues give you great opportunities to make an impact?

We are now looking for licensed and qualified teachers for our grades F–9 schools in Dikanäs and Saxnäs for the school year 2026–2027, right in the magnificent mountain world.

The Dikanäs and Saxnäs mountain schools are located about ten miles from Vilhelmina, in vibrant mountain villages with a strong sense of community. Here we work in small groups, close to nature, and with a strong focus on collaboration across grades and stages. Together with the local preschools, we create a whole where everyone knows everyone – and where you really have the opportunity to influence and develop your teaching.

Responsibilities

For the school year 2026–2027, we are looking for teachers for Dikanäs and Saxnäs mountain schools in the following subjects:

• Wood and metal crafts
• Textile crafts
• Saami hard crafts
• Home and consumer studies
• Music
• Art
• Spanish
• Swedish
• English
• Social Studies

When applying, you will indicate which subjects you can teach.

Qualifications

You are a licensed and qualified teacher in one or more of the requested subjects. You are flexible and see opportunities in teaching situations. You find it easy to collaborate and recognize the strength in working across grades and stages, and you are innovative and want to contribute to the development of the school.

Experience with ICT in teaching is an advantage. Personal suitability is highly valued.

With reference to Law SFS 2000:873, those offered a position must provide an extract from the criminal record before employment can be established.

About Vilhelmina

Vilhelmina can be described as a 5-minute community. It may be a bit far from larger cities, but once you are there, most things are within reach. In five minutes, you can pick up children from preschool, go to work, hit the gym after work, or take your skis/running shoes to the illuminated trails, and eat at one of the local cafes and restaurants. In the mountains, there are facilities that are open both during tourist seasons and year-round, and also close to some of the larger ski slopes in Kittelfjäll and Klimpfjäll.
