The management office of Region Uppsala is part of Region Uppsala, one of Uppsala County's largest employers. The management office is led by the regional director and consists of approximately one thousand employees. With a governing, supportive, and coordinating role, the management office is tasked with supporting the political leadership and administrations so that the political direction is reflected in the region's various operations. In this way, Region Uppsala can fulfill its role both regionally and nationally.

Our Operations

Region Uppsala has begun a comprehensive journey to develop the region's logistical capability. As part of this work, the region has established a central logistics unit at the management office of Region Uppsala with the task of ensuring a robust and efficient supply of materials to healthcare.

We are currently in an expansive phase where we will develop and implement a new business system, as well as establish a central warehouse in our own management. The central warehouse will serve as the hub for the region's material supply to healthcare and will be an important part of the region's investment in increased supply readiness.

As part of this, we are now expanding our operations with a Logistics Controller.

Your Mission

Your role as a logistics controller includes overall responsibility for leading economic processes and supporting the management and governance of logistics operations.

The role involves working with budget, forecasting, and financial follow-up as well as developing and using key performance indicators to track costs, efficiency, and goal fulfillment. Through analyses of financial and operational data, you contribute to the development and streamlining of logistics operations together with management and operations. You work closely with the economic manager and logistics management and act as a financial sounding board in operational and strategic matters. The role involves explaining and visualizing and contributing to improved working methods and increased financial transparency and efficiency within the logistics area. Since the position is new, you will be involved in shaping both the role and the area of responsibility.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Working with budget, forecasting, and follow-up processes within logistics operations
  • Supporting the economic manager and logistics management with financial analyses and decision-making materials
  • Developing, managing, and analyzing relevant key performance indicators related to costs, efficiency, and goal fulfillment
  • Analyzing volumes, capacity, resource utilization, cost drivers from a financial perspective
  • Visualizing and communicating financial information in an educational manner to different target groups
  • Contributing financial expertise in development and change initiatives

You will be part of a unit consisting of four other controllers, located at the management office of Region Uppsala. You will primarily work towards the purchasing and logistics department. You report to the economic manager at the management office of Region Uppsala and to the management of the purchasing and logistics department.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree in economics
  • Several years of experience in qualified controller work and thus good knowledge in budgeting, analysis, follow-up, and investment calculations
  • Several years of experience working closely with financial governance, analysis, and decision support within logistics or supply chain operations
  • Very good knowledge of Excel
  • The ability to translate complex financial data into clear analyses and decision-making materials
  • Fluency in Swedish in both spoken and written form

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience in warehouse, transport, or central warehouse operations
  • Familiarity with BI and analysis tools, such as Power BI, SAS
  • Experience from larger complex organizations
  • Experience in contributing to the development of working methods, models, or governance within logistics
