Data Scientist for the Health and Care Administration

We are now taking exciting new steps towards the future of health and care. As a data scientist, you will work to collect, process, and make data available to find patterns, trends, and insights, and to optimize the organization's decision-making and operational strategies. You will be one of the keys to achieving the municipality's goals for increased development speed and becoming a more data-driven municipality as a whole.

Organizationally, you belong to the quality unit of the health and care administration, where you sit alongside other technical and strategic competencies, but your networks and collaborators span the entire organization as well as the private sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We offer a key role where you support, guide, coordinate, and coach our operations with analyses and reports that aid in our development and decision-making processes moving forward. A function that is close to operations, operational, and strategic with a large mandate.

With the words we must, we want, and we can, we are now seeking your expertise to:

  • Identify our operational challenges that can be solved with data analysis and define what data needs to be collected to address challenges and problems.
  • Collect, clean, and categorize data from various sources and create data warehouses, data structures, hypotheses, and quality measures.
  • Process data and convert it into a format that can be used for analyses.
  • Conduct data analyses to see patterns, trends, and insights in our operations.
  • Create mathematical models.
  • Create forecasts based on historical data to help the administration make strategic decisions.
  • Present, create reports, and visually communicate the results of data analyses in an educational manner. All with the aim of helping decision-makers understand and utilize the results to optimize decision-making and our operational strategies.

The employment is a temporary position for the entire year of 2026 with a likely extension into 2027.

QUALIFICATIONS

Fundamentally, you have an academic degree in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or another relevant education such as a KY education as a data scientist or data analyst. You have good knowledge of statistical methods and also possess skills that enhance your ability to analyze and interpret data. If you also have experience working with databases and visualization tools and are used to leading change initiatives, that is a significant plus. Since the role involves close operational work with a lot of documentation and dialogue, good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form is required.
