About the Workplace

The Department of Communication & Customer Service leads and coordinates the municipality's communication efforts. We work to create the greatest possible value for the municipality's operations and for everyone who lives, works, and visits Nyköping.

We are responsible for both external and internal channels, design, content, strategic and operational communication support, crisis communication, and management support. The department consists of a unit for graphic production and web development, as well as a unit for operational support. The department also includes a third unit responsible for customer service and internal service.

We are now looking for an experienced communications strategist with a particular interest in safety and care issues, an area that spans many operations, levels, and time perspectives: from everyday care and preventive work to preparedness and crisis management. You will particularly support the management group for the Social Care division.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a communications strategist, you will have a broad and varied assignment where you work both strategically and operationally. You support operations and management groups in matters concerning care and safety, but also support larger focus areas that span across divisional boundaries.

You will:

• act as a strategic advisor and contribute a communicative perspective in management contexts
• lead, coach, and coordinate communication efforts within the area of care and safety
• ensure good information flows and a constructive communication climate
• support managers and key personnel with both planning and implementation of communication work
• produce and publish content in our channels
• provide communicative support in change projects
• sometimes lead projects with colleagues and external actors, sometimes participate as an expert in others' projects
• if necessary, join the municipality's crisis organization and contribute to crisis communication

Together with your communications colleagues, you will develop the municipality's communication work as a whole.

You will report to the communications manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying should have:

• relevant university degree in communication or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
• at least 5 years of experience in qualified communication work
• experience in providing strategic advice at the management level
• experience collaborating with the media
• very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• ability to follow the principles of clear language and Swedish writing rules

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience in care and safety issues
• experience in public operations
• experience in change communication in larger organizations
• experience in working with communicative leadership

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is relationship-oriented, trust-building, and secure in your role. You are an experienced communicator who can quickly understand complex contexts and see wholes and connections. You can also easily transform the complex into understandable content. You keep up with research and development relevant to the role.

You are structured, can handle many issues simultaneously, and can easily switch between strategic and operational work. As an advisor, you are clear and confident in bringing the communication perspective into the operations.

You take initiative, are a humble team player, and always keep the target audience in focus.
