About the Unit

The Unit for Regulatory Law is part of the Department of Regulation. Together, we provide comprehensive legal support for the entire organization, which includes administrative law, public access and confidentiality, data protection, digitalization and IT law, procurement, contracts and agreements, and damages. A large part of our work focuses on regulatory law, where we develop regulations and general advice within the occupational health and safety area together with other units in the Department of Regulation. The unit contributes to the development of the authority through governing and supporting documents and by implementing new legislation. We conduct training for our colleagues in the authority and contribute to the development of processes. Together, we strive for a uniform and legally secure operation.

Your New Job

As a lawyer, you will be an important part of the Unit for Regulatory Law, which currently consists of 12 knowledgeable and dedicated lawyers and a unit manager. You will work with internal legal advice and support focusing on administrative law, public access and confidentiality, data protection, digitalization and IT law, procurement, and EU law. Furthermore, you will respond to consultations and participate in projects. The role also includes conducting training and information initiatives on legal issues and contributing to raising internal knowledge and awareness in the area.

You will participate in working groups and various internal and external collaboration forums where you will contribute your legal expertise. The role involves close collaboration with both the operations and other support functions, as well as contacts with external actors on relevant legal issues. Tasks within other areas of the unit's operations, such as regulatory work, may also be included in the role.

Your Background

The role requires that you have:

  • Law degree or equivalent.
  • Clerkship or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in qualified legal work within public administration.
  • Experience working with information legislation, digitalization, and IT law.
  • Experience working with EU law.
  • Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Experience in developing regulations.
  • Experience in procurement and security-protected procurement.
  • Experience in litigation.

As a person, we see that you will thrive and succeed in the role if you have good problem-solving skills and can drive your work forward independently. Furthermore, you are comfortable acting in situations where everything cannot be planned. You face challenges with confidence in your own abilities and handle unexpected events flexibly. Additionally, you share your expertise with others to achieve good team results. In the selection process, we will place great emphasis on your personal competencies.

Employment with us may mean that the position is classified in a security class. Security screening with or without a background check may therefore be conducted before a hiring decision. For some of our tasks in the security class, Swedish citizenship is required. Security screening is conducted according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

How We Recruit

We use competency-based recruitment, both to ensure the quality of the recruitment and to counteract discrimination. We therefore ask you to only attach a CV and answer a few questions instead of a cover letter when you register your application. Since we work competency-based, we also use psychological tests in this recruitment. Interviews will start from the end of week 15.

We believe it is important for you to also make your assessment of us. Therefore, we welcome questions both before and during the recruitment process. Union contact persons are Adam Jansson for Saco, Eva Parissay for ST, and Jenny Bengtsson for Seko. All can be reached via the Swedish Work Environment Authority's switchboard: 010-730 90 00.

Do you want to work with us to ensure that no one becomes ill, injured, or dies from work?

Welcome with your application by March 29, 2026!

The recruitment is handled by the Swedish Work Environment Authority's recruitment function, so we kindly ask recruitment companies or ad sellers to refrain from contacting us.
