We are looking for a group manager who wants to lead and develop our tourism statistics. The Tourism Statistics group is responsible for the official statistics on tourism and other statistical products. With us, you will lead a team of qualified employees who develop new ways to collect data in Sweden and actively work to disseminate statistics through reports, our statistics portal, and as open data. Tillväxtverket also has a mission to promote tourism, and in your role as group manager, you will collaborate with that part of the operation.
The Tourism Statistics group belongs to the Analysis and Statistics unit, which is tasked with conducting analyses, surveys, and producing statistics to develop knowledge and increase learning within Tillväxtverket's main areas of operation.
About the position
In the role of group manager, you will support the unit manager in the work with operational planning and development of tourism statistics. The group is responsible for the official statistics in tourism and other statistical products. You will be responsible for developing the operations and the employees. You are also responsible for the quality of the statistics and ensuring that we comply with current regulations.
The position also includes some operational work with tourism statistics. The tasks also include administrative work.
The work is carried out in close consultation with the unit manager.
Your place of work is: Stockholm or Östersund
We are looking for someone who has:
- University or higher education in relevant fields for the position
- Current experience in coordinating and leading work with official statistics
- At least five years of experience in statistical work
- Good knowledge of quantitative methods and experience in compiling large datasets and conducting statistical processing
- Good knowledge and experience in working with data processing of large datasets and programming in statistical software such as SAS, R, Python, or similar
- Experience in internal and external collaboration
- Experience in writing various forms of knowledge materials
- Experience in presenting results to different target groups
- Good knowledge of how government authorities are governed
- Very good skills in Excel
- Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish
- Good knowledge of English in speech and writing
The following are desirable:
- Experience in leading remote work with geographically dispersed employees
- Management experience and/or leadership experience
- Experience in disseminating knowledge from statistics
- Experience in automating processes for data collection, processing, and analysis
- Experience in own data collection

The role requires an analytical and meticulous approach as well as an unpretentious and flexible attitude.
