Team Leader for the Fire Service in Trelleborg
In Trelleborg, we work together for a growing successful community where it is good to live. Our 61 villages and 21 districts are creative meeting places that bubble with life. Here we want to do things, tell about them, and come just as we are. This means we welcome others in the same generous and curious way.
Welcome to take your place on the journey!
The Community Planning Department has now completed a comprehensive transformation journey that strengthens our ability to contribute to Trelleborg's growth and sustainable development. Since the beginning of 2026, we have a new, modern, and long-term sustainable organization in place, designed to meet future challenges and opportunities with clear direction and high professionalism.
The new structure consists of three departments: Fire Service, Building and Environment Department, and Planning and Geodata Department. Each department consists of two specialized units and is supported by a common secretariat unit, which gives us good conditions for effective, coordinated, and qualitative work. With our common forward spirit and our focus on innovation and development, we lead community building in Trelleborg forward. Our work contributes to creating an attractive, safe, and sustainable community for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Since everything Trelleborg Municipality does is based on our values of openness, respect, and responsibility, it is important and crucial that these values are as obvious to you as they are to us in our work.
Workplace
The Fire Service in Trelleborg Municipality consists of a full-time organization and three part-time areas.
The full-time organization is staffed around the clock with a team leader and four firefighters at the station, as well as an incident commander on standby. Since 2020, we have been working from a newly built fire station, which gives you the opportunity to work in a modern workplace with a focus on health, work environment, and well-being for all employees.
We collaborate with Vellinge and Skurup municipalities under an agreement and cover an area with just over 90,000 inhabitants. This includes a joint administration and management organization located in Trelleborg. In total, we are about 150 employees, distributed across the full-time station, eight RIB stations, and administration.
To strengthen our part-time force, we are now looking for two team leaders who will play a central role in leading, developing, and coordinating our work at the part-time station in Trelleborg.

Responsibilities
As a team leader, you will have operational responsibility for a part-time shift team at the station in Trelleborg. You will be based at the Tryggheten house and will lead and coordinate your team during rescue operations and conduct and lead exercises to ensure that the staff is well prepared for real operations. Normally, you and your team are on standby every fourth week, and you should be reachable around the clock with the help of a pager. Your leadership role also means that you actively work to create a good work environment where your team feels both safe and motivated to perform their work. This requires you to have a strong ability to inspire and engage your employees and support them in their development.
A large part of your role involves ensuring that employees have the right competencies and conducting training sessions that maintain high quality. During operations, your ability to make quick and effective decisions is crucial for coordinating work on site, which means you must remain calm and clear under pressure. You will also collaborate with other units and authorities in joint operations, which places demands on your communication skills and ability to create good coordination during operations.
After employment, you will undergo training as a group leader to further develop your leadership skills. If you demonstrate good leadership qualities and develop in the role, there is an opportunity for further training through Leadership Course 1 (LK1) and the possibility of becoming a rescue leader.
Qualifications
In the role of team leader, it is important that you have experience from the fire service or other operational activities, and we would like you to have experience in leadership or coordinating responsibilities. You lead by creating safety, participation, and engagement, and actively work for a good work environment where all employees are given the opportunity to develop based on their strengths and needs.
We are looking for someone who is responsible and structured and has the ability to make decisions even in complex and pressured situations. You contribute to an open work climate where different perspectives are valued and where learning and development occur together.
You have completed training as a firefighter. Experience in leadership within the fire service or similar operations is advantageous, but we also value leadership experience from other contexts. A B driver's license and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, are required. A C driver's license is advantageous. For the position, you need to be able to report to the fire station in Trelleborg, Västra ringvägen 112, and be fully dressed in firefighting gear within five minutes after an alarm.

This is for a more inclusive recruitment process and an effective candidate experience for you as an applicant. Your answers will be an important part of our selection work.
In preparation for the recruitment work, Trelleborg Municipality has carefully considered recruitment channels and marketing. We therefore strongly request no contact with media sellers, recruitment sites, or similar.
