Temporary IT Technician for Elderly Care's Digitalization Team

The elderly care in Umeå municipality aims to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and interaction.

We are now looking for a temporary IT technician for the elderly care's digitalization team, focusing on home support, social interaction, and making technology understandable and usable for everyone. Here, you will work practically with installations in homes, support people in using digital technology, and help shape the future of care in a real way. If you enjoy variety, people, and problem-solving, you will thrive!

Digitalization for Safe, Independent, and Sustainable Elderly Care

Within Umeå municipality's elderly care, a purposeful and exciting development work is underway where digital solutions play a central role. By integrating technology into everyday life, we strengthen safety, quality, and the possibility of a more independent life.

Our digitalization team, consisting of business developers, coordinators, and IT technicians, works both strategically and practically to develop solutions that truly work in everyday life. We believe in technology that creates real value for our citizens and employees, and in collaboration as a key to success.

With the strategy Digitalize, we meet future needs through a rapid digital transition. We develop new working methods, leave outdated routines behind, and create conditions for qualitative, safe, and more sustainable elderly care with a focus on individual independence and needs.

What Does the Role Entail?

In this position, you will have a varied and important assignment. You will primarily work in the homes of individuals where you install technology, provide support, and create security around its use.

Examples of Work Tasks:

  • Program, install, and adapt digital equipment, e.g., welfare technology, security alarms, and digital locks
  • Provide practical support and training to technology users in a simple and pedagogical way
  • Collaborate with home care, home healthcare, and staff at care and nursing homes.
  • Collaborate with departments such as system management, Digital Transition, and IT as well as suppliers.
  • Participate in projects, tests, procurements, and communication
  • Manage service, support, documentation, and ongoing administration

You will be an important link between technology and people, ensuring that solutions work where they are needed most: in everyday life.

About You

You are a problem solver who sees opportunities where others see obstacles. You are driven, service-oriented, and communicative, both in speech and writing. You enjoy collaborating in a team but are also comfortable working independently, directly with the individual user. Since the work is close to people, it is important that you are pedagogical, attentive, and flexible, and can adapt both your language and your working methods to individual needs and circumstances. Part of the work has a more practical character, so it is also important that you are not unfamiliar with handling simple tools or technical equipment during installations.

We place great importance on your personal qualities.

Requirements

  • IT education or equivalent experience as assessed by the employer
  • You have a genuine interest in technology, both hardware and software, and are curious about new systems and platforms
  • Experience working with computers and digital tools, such as Microsoft 365
  • Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good knowledge of English
  • Driver's license B

Meritorious

  • Education or experience in communication and/or project management
  • Previous experience as IT support
  • Experience working in healthcare and social care
  • Experience working in systems such as Careium and/or Phoniro

We see your personality, commitment, and ability to collaborate as crucial for success with us. Welcome with your application!
