Are you interested in teaching Swedish as a second language?

We are looking for an Sfi teacher for the summer weeks. In this position, you will meet people from different cultures who are on their way to learning Swedish.

The Education and Job Center belongs to the Employment Administration and conducts all Sfi in the municipality. We are a large workplace with about 65 teachers and around 1500 Sfi students. Our mission is to teach Swedish to adult students with a different native language. We follow the Sfi curriculum. You need to be available to work in weeks 26, 27, 30, 32, and 33. We have classes during the day, evening, and weekends (Saturdays) in classrooms.

Job Description

As a substitute teacher in Swedish as a second language at Sfi, you will plan (based on a rough plan), conduct, and follow up on teaching, as well as handle certain administrative tasks such as attendance registration. In addition to lessons, you will also have student contact via Teams and email, and partially collaborate with other teachers/substitutes. Teaching is conducted in classrooms with the help of computers and other digital tools.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is interested in teaching Swedish as a second language. The position requires good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. IT skills with a focus on pedagogical work are an advantage. We expect you to have a good understanding of the school's governing documents and curriculum. Previous experience in teaching adults is also an advantage.

You are a responsive and collaborative person who builds good relationships with both colleagues and students in a smooth manner. With your outgoing and socially active attitude, you easily create new contacts and nurture existing ones. You have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and adapt your communication to the needs of the recipient, which allows you to convey your message in a clear, inclusive, and pedagogical way.
