Welcome to the Culture, Sports, and Leisure Administration

The administration consists of six departments. Four of the administration's departments are primarily responsible for the cultural committee's own operations: Uppsala Library, Uppsala Leisure, Uppsala Art and Cultural Heritage, and Uppsala Culture School. Two departments within the administration are offices that work directly on behalf of the administration's management and handle matters for the cultural committee and the sports and leisure committee.

Uppsala Culture School

Uppsala Culture School is part of the Culture, Sports, and Leisure Administration in Uppsala Municipality. We offer instruction during children's and youth's free time in visual arts, dance, film, music, creative writing, and theater for children and young people between 6 and 20 years old. The culture school employs 86 educators distributed across four teams.

Job Description

You will teach children and youth aged 6-20 in visual arts. Each group consists of a maximum of 12 participants. The instruction takes place in the late afternoon and evening (Monday-Friday) in the visual arts workshop at Uppsala Castle. The position also includes holiday course activities.

You are responsible for lesson planning, content in teaching, and material selection in consultation with the unit manager. There are great opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations. You participate in staff meetings and other meeting formats and contribute to the development of the culture school.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a subject teacher degree with a focus on visual arts or an artistic degree with several years of teaching experience in the subject.

As a person, you are pedagogical and have an understanding of people's different abilities to absorb knowledge.
