Kajan School's adapted primary and secondary school is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and competent preschool/primary school teacher with experience working in adapted primary schools and/or secondary schools. All children attending the school have an intellectual disability.

Job Responsibilities

You will work closely with Kajan's special educators and resource pedagogues during school hours.

Assisted by a team of skilled special educators, you will function as a teaching resource in the classroom during school hours alongside the school's resource pedagogues. Together, you will provide support for the students throughout their school day. We also expect you to step in as a substitute teacher when needed, both for longer and shorter periods if any of our special educators are away for studies or become ill. Therefore, it is important for us that you have a degree as a teacher for leisure-time centers/preschool teacher or primary school teacher.

After school, you will work according to a schedule in leisure time/short-term supervision (for children and youth over 12 years old who need care). The position is a vacation position.

Qualifications

You are familiar with the mission of the adapted school and actively work to stimulate students' development and learning. Teaching is based on the students' needs, interests, and experiences, but you also succeed in challenging them by inspiring new discoveries. You offer students a variety of working methods, forms of expression, and learning environments that integrate care and learning.

You plan, organize, implement, and evaluate teaching both individually and together with your colleagues. You are flexible, have good collaboration skills, and a desire for students to reach their full potential.

In the leisure center/classroom, you are a clear leader who has the ability to create an environment characterized by safety, joy, and knowledge. This is achieved through good didactic skills, a clear structure, and varied teaching adapted to the circumstances.

You view documentation and assessment as a natural part of the work. You have a good ability to analyze and reflect on your work to continuously develop and improve the operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

- is a licensed teacher for leisure centers/preschool teacher/primary school teacher.

- has experience teaching in adapted primary schools and has a good knowledge of governing documents.

- uses digital tools in teaching and applies clarifying pedagogy and has knowledge of positive behavior support.

- has good collaboration skills and can create good relationships as the work involves many contact points with students, staff, and guardians.

- expresses themselves well in both speech and writing as the role includes written documentation and oral communication.
