Choir Leader Wanted for a Musical Choir in Uppsala in Autumn 2026

About the Position:

Hello!

We are looking for a cheerful and dedicated choir leader for our Musical Choir in Uppsala.

The choir is open to everyone, with no auditions required, and is aimed at adults who want to sing and share their passion with others.

Songs are already prepared with harmonies, recordings, lyrics, sheet music, etc., allowing you to focus solely on taking care of the members on-site without worrying about preparations.

You love working with people and are driven to help individuals become more confident and believe in themselves. You believe that singing can be a pathway to well-being and are eager to support people wherever they are in their singing development. You believe in the power of choral singing and its ability to unite people.

We believe that you always come with a smile and understand that when you engage with the students, this might be their best moment of the entire week. We believe you have the insight to not get stuck on individual parts but instead let the joy of singing flow in the room.

You have training as a singing teacher or equivalent.

Who are we?

VocalLife has led various singing activities for over 10 years, primarily in Lund but also in cities across Sweden, such as Malmö, Jönköping, Örebro, Norrköping, Helsingborg, etc. We love bringing people together through song.

We know that when people sing together, we create a better and healthier society that benefits both the singers and those around them.

Moreover, in an increasingly digital world, places that unite people are among the most important things there are.

We love helping people grow through the community of singing.

Compensation and Future:

We prefer that you have a business and can invoice us, but we can also create a temporary position based on hours if that suits you better.

If you wish to lead multiple choirs in your local area, this could also be an opportunity.

We hope for a long-term collaboration. Therefore, we want to create the possibility for you, if desired, to eventually change our agreement to a permanent position and also add singing lessons, vocal ensembles, group singing, etc., in your area if that is of interest. This is something we can discuss based on your wishes and our possibilities together to find solutions.

The position currently involves a few hours a week. We hope you have another job alongside it as your main source of income.
